Hmm so raiding to steal food or women is "natural" to humans, but large-scale warfare is not. Interesting. Sounds like the Ironborn are doing it right, eh? And the Kavalars too, I suppose. The two cultures do share some similarities; both believe in raiding - either other holdfasts or the stony shore, stealing food, goods and women who they bring back with them. Within each society, there are those who want to return to the old ways of raiding, while it is no longer acceptable in modern society and in both cases there are those who oppose it (Jaan Vikary, Asha & the Reader). Even the three-way marriage is seen in both, although instead of a rock wife the Kavalars have a (male) teyn - but both have the equivalent of the salt wife (betheyn), who comes second but is still respected and can produce heirs. She is usually stolen from another holdfast/tribe/society.
I've been trying for some time to find an equivalent to the mock men that are hunted on High Kavalaan. As a reminder, these were originally victims of radiation poisoning who could potentially endanger a holdfast that took them in. If they did survive, their offspring were often deformed, due to the radiation, so they came to be seen as not real men. Over time, holdfasts started hunting them for sport, even long after they stopped posing a danger to anyone. The reasoning/justification is still that they are not real men and could therefore pose a danger to holdfasts.
The deformed babies make me think of Valyrians, but those were never hunted or shunned. Who was shunned, however, (and possibly hunted as well, who knows?) were the terrible half-human children produced when men mated with Others. There is also the Bolton pastime of hunting women through the woods, which is eerily similar to Kavalar customs of hunting mock men. Assuming Ramsay didn't invent this hobby, where did it start? And lastly, I imagine that skinchangers would not fare well south of the Wall. But none of that really gets me anywhere, grr.
“In Qohor he is the Black Goat, in Yi Ti the Lion of Night, in Westeros the Stranger. All men must bow to him in the end, no matter if they worship the Seven or the Lord of Light, the Moon Mother or the Drowned God or the Great Shepherd. All mankind belongs to him... else somewhere in the world would be a folk who lived forever. Do you know of any folk who live forever?”

Ironborn, Dornish, and Wildling all fit the description.
PJ says Kavalar are basically space Boltons so I'd imagine so.
Darkstar will be the next Vulture King.
Craster has 19 daughters and there are 19 castles on the Wall, coincidence I think not!
