Here the freakout would be because of Aegon actually being Rhegar's son!
Seriously though, to me personally the only way to save a Jon-is-a-hidden-prince-clusterfuck (yes, I really hate the idea) is to never tell. Anyone. It's cleverly done for sure, I generally just don't like that trope and hope it isn't that kind of story. Seen it too many times. Aegon if real is an exception, as he's introduced so late and out of the blue.
Luckily this is but a tiny part of the story, so I'll probably get other things to enjoy if this comes to pass.
Well if anyone could save the kid it would be Varys. That compounded with his confession to Kevin makes it possible.
I'd like to see this too, please! I've heard it of course, but not read it yet.

That idea is intriguing. What if all wielder's of Dawn used to be the Sword of the Evening? That makes them sound like a house that might have shined in the darkness, rather than the day; a connection to night, and maybe the Long Night.
Well considering I think the Long Night ended with a Pact and peace between the White Walkers and humans. The idea of having a Sword of the Evening isn't so crazy.
It's not that I don't want to see it, it's just that I don't see it. I always favored the idea of RLJ, but even years ago, I always said, "Jon is all ice, all Stark". Looking at Jon himself, there is little that screams dragon. It's the story around him that hints at the dragon blood, but not Jon himself. Which indicates to me that the child with the dragonblood shows some signs of that blood. If not Jon, then who? Jon really doesn't have characteristics of the Targaryen's, certainly not in looks. If he is half direwolf, half dragon, he should emulate both houses in his behavior, but I just don't see that he does. All ice, all Stark! I am prepared to be wrong, but I will be confused!
I have been on both sides of the arguement and never going to a be 100 percent until the books reveal. Too many clues that point in multiple directions. The only thing that I can't really disprove or re imagine is the vision of a blue follower in the wall being Jon. Blue roses are almost always associated with Lyanna. Granted that has nothing to do with Rheagar being the dad its just all of the other father options make little to no sense to me. Except the Starkcest thing, especially Benjen.
We have discussed that a bit in the past. I agree that Quentyn is fake but I think the real Quentyn might be Gerris Drinkwater. That is why Gerris tries to steer Quentyn away from trying to capture a dragon, and that is why Gerris is so damn mad after Quentyn's death. He knew that Quentyn was an imposter, because he knows he himself is the real Quentyn. I think Doran Martell is very good at swapping children in a bid to protect them. But yes, that is for another thread.
Gerris is a curious one. I guess I could see Quentyn as him but why the charade when they finally make it to Dany? What other things make you think so? I certainly think he is Daario, or mayhaps Daario is the Blackfyre.
Yup there has to be children swapping at the Water Garden, its so foreshadowed it hurts.
