The Sword that was Broken and the Sword that was Reforged...
What do y'all think about Andúril?
I'm "wrapping" a replica of Andúril for my daughter in a bedspread set and it's a beautiful/cool sword and all, but is it as cool as Ice? How about Longclaw or Darksister or Dawn? You guys can probably guess which one I'd want for my birthday.
Ice. Ned Stark is still my favorite character in the series despite everything that’s happened in the books since.
It was hard for me to not choose Ned's Ice as well. Gotta love Ned. Thankfully, I see Dawn as being the original version of Ice, so that made the choice feel ok. Still though, so many feels tied up in Ned's Ice. I have some of those same feels for Andúril though, so mayhaps Dawn wins by a nose simply because it is easier to idealize without the emotional baggage attached to it.

voice, Weren’t you the one who came up with the Dawn=Ice theory? Kind of makes sense that he would have kept the sword. Spoils of war and all. Valerian Steel is unique and special. Is it just special because it kills White Walkers or is there more magical-ness going on here?

Oooh who is Nightfall? If you're talking about the Sword of the Evening's version of Dawn, I want one!!!
Nightfall is the Valyrian steel sword that was captured by Dalton Grey joy, the Red Kraken. It is currently in the possession of Harras "the Knight" Harlaw. One of the series most underappreciated badasses.
Darkstar will be the next Vulture King.
Craster has 19 daughters and there are 19 castles on the Wall, coincidence I think not!

Yup. That's me. LOL I thump that bible pretty regularly. Of all my pet theories, it's the one I'm most sure of. Rather than kill white walkers, I think Dawn belongs to the Others, and Brandon the Builder specifically. Details here:

Damn. Yeah I totally don't remember that one. That's a badass name for a dark Valyrian Steel sword.

No love for Glamdring or Orcrist? They're some damn fine blades too y'all I'm going to go with a deep-cut and name Acharn as the blade I would most like to own. Acharn is wielded by Talion in Shadow of Mordor and is the broken remnants of his son's sword after it was destroyed by the Black Hand of Sauron. It's little more than a handle and a hilt, more than half of the blade has been smashed but Talion wields it as an off-hand dagger and I adore the symbolism. Talion gave his son the sword so he could follow in his footsteps and become a ranger of Gondor, his father wielding it after his death against the Black Hand's forces is very lovely to me Btw, if any of y'all haven't played Shadow & you get the opportunity then you should absolutely jump at the chance. It's packed with lore and is hands down the best LOTR game of all time.

Ah yes forged by the Noldor of Gondolin long ago in the First Age.
Also yes Shadow of Mormon is amazing and needs a sequel yesterday. I have played through it three times I think. Other than fucking with certain aspects of Canon its an amazing game. Someone needs to use that system again.
Darkstar will be the next Vulture King.

I was fine with that, it's not like they went full-cyanide and invented a bastard baby who was fathered by Robert Baratheon on a woman who was herself, the bastard of Aerys Targaryen

Indeed seeing Arnor and the fall of that Kingdom could be really fun.
Although the system seems perfect to do a Turin Turambar game. There is a pipe dream.
