Going to use this thread to compile evidence and get critiques. Please tear this apart as much as possible. I don't have books in front of me right now so it's less a proof and more an outpouring, I'm just trying to get it all out there while it's in my head. I'll find the quotes when I format it into something that's presentable.
Rhaella
Official story: Conceives a child (probably by Aerys's rape after burning... Chelsted I think) shortly before leaving King's Landing. Dies in childbirth on Dragonstone, supposedly Daenerys, who escapes to Braavos with Darry and Viserys before Stannis takes the castle. We know the problems with this from Mark's thread, but we can reasonably assume Rhaella died birthing someone. She's too old to be Lemore, but Tyrion notes that Young Griff looks a couple years too young to be Rhaegar's Aegon. What if he's Rhaella's, and Varys/Illyrio are passing him off as the real Aegon for succession purposes? He's been raised to rule, Viserys has always been a spoiled little shit. Seems like a convenient way to get Viserys and Dany out of the picture, while also using them to secure a Dothraki army to invade. Could Haldon have been Dragonstone's maester? Could Salladhor Saan have played a role in smuggling them out? He also (I think) speaks High Valyrian.
Lyanna
I still say she has to be Jon's mother based solely on the blue rose growing from a chink in the wall vision that Dany has. If anyone has a way to explain that away, I'm all ears, because I'd much prefer Jon be Ned and Ashara's for this theory. There is the wolf imagery during the MMD tent ritual though, and I think GRRM using RLJ as a red herring and revealing RLD instead is a very pro-feminist way to subvert that hidden heir fantasy trope, and GRRM has said often he's a feminist. Makes a statement to our bias if we assume the secret heir will be a male character.
Ashara
If RLD, that leaves NAJ, which is the combination that best parallels Jon's baby swap, taking a mother's son and sending her to Essos with a royal baby that isn't hers to protect it from harm would be a decision Ned and Jon both made if this were the case. It makes Ned a far more interesting character knowing he's not just Johnny Honorable, and it makes a very GRRMesque tragic love triangle between he, Ashara, and Catelyn if he gives up love for duty. Also adds a new layer to the "never mention that name again" threat. If Ashara takes Dany from Starfall down the Greenblood and through Lemonwood before crossing the Narrow Sea, her childhood memories all start to make sense.
Now tear it down, what am I missing?
