I choked back vomit on the dragon riding and kissing afterwards.
I don't know why but it reminds me that scene in SW The Last Jedi, when Leia is seen flying through space after getting blasted off of the bridge from the Resistance ship.
What do you guys think of this theory that Sansa is going to die?
I have stayed away from spoilers this season since I am hoping it will make this season seem not as terrible as last season, but if this happens it would not surprise me. I think she has always been marked since she fed Ned to the lions in the first season! Even if she did it unknowingly, there is a penance that probably is going to be paid.
I've resolved to thinking of the show post Season 2 to be "inspired by" instead of an adaptation. Thinking of them as 2 separate but similar stories has made the show more entertaining for me. Therefore I'm skipping spoilers too.
I'd argue that Sansa paid that penance by enduring Joff, Cersei, LF and then fn Ramsay. I think she'll end up as one of the sole survivors and go out without an heir, like Queen Elizabeth, thus ending the Stark line.
The blade was Valyrian steel, spell-forged and dark as smoke. Nothing held an edge like Valyrian steel.

I am torn.
D&D have tortured Sansa so much over the course of the series, it would be a mercy to kill her off. I also don't care for the storyline they contrived for her last season. I'm not a fan of the teleportation stuff, nor their shallow/clumsy brand of feminism.
But Sophie Turner stirs my "attention" like few other actresses on the show.
Here's hoping they feature her more/more of her this season.
Just re-read Cat's chapter in AGoT when she goes to KL. The show started their teleportation early! Guess they didn't want to waste time on ol' Ser Roddrick's whiskers.

Such a shame too, because Catelyn's boat ride = contemporaneous observation for Bran's coma "dream". (militantly marching around my first pet theory)
"I can see it. You have more of the north in you than your brothers."

It is probably smart and mentally healthy to try to separate the mediums but I really struggle with that. Mostly it is because of the lost potential of the show. It was once a much closer story, and now I don't know if much remains but the names of the characters, certainly their deeds and combined characters are a significant difference, and the story telling was just so very poor last season, it was honestly painful to watch. I found myself jerked out of the episodes on multiple occasions. I think the only one that held my attention was the Spoils of War and then they ruined it at the end by having Jaime sink into the Blackwater in full armor but safely float downstream well away from Dany's army and apparently even with a dragon to help scout, they couldn't find him while he walked back to Kings Landing. It's that kind of stuff I really struggled with last season! I don't want to be treated like I am dumb and that is how I felt the show looked at the viewers, and I found that upsetting! The show used to be smart and treat their audience like they were smart, too!
Sansa did have a terrible time with Joffrey, but Arya has seen and experienced terrible things in her journey's and she didn't feed to Ned's downfall. Nope, I still think Sansa needs to pay the piper, whether that will happen on the show or not...
Their father understood as well. "You want no pup for yourself, Jon?" he asked softly.

I agree. I usually watch the "Inside the Episode" to try and figure out WTF they were doing. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it makes it worse.
Last night we watched "Dragonstone". The scene where the Hound et al return to the cottage of the farmer he mugged and buries the bodies. The hubs said he'd be interested to hear what they do with that scene in the books. He doesn't read them but he reads my theories and listens to me talk (a lot) about them. I had to tell him that Beric is dead, Sandor is with the Elder Brother, UnDead Cat is the one killing Freys, and none of this shit is happening like this.
Questions for you all. In the show, when Mel brings Jon back...wouldn't the brother's the NW be suspicious/concerned/scared/freaked the fuck out about this? After all, most of them know about the army of the dead and here this dude is coming back to life!

Oh that! It was so oddly never addressed by any of the characters that I wanted to beat my head against the wall!
Night's Watch Brothers - "Oh, you were dead? But now you are not! Cool!"
Jon - Shrugs! Smooth's his man bun!
-End Scene-

Aside from Tormund's pecker joke, that is. Just seemed like such a blatant disregard for us with brains. I would imagine even the wildlings are freaked out. Edd asks if his eyes are blue but honestly, is that all that matters? Funny enough Jon gets a funny look each time Davos mentions it. Even Show Jon knows it would/should freak out people!
