I was thinking you could even take this theory a step further and say Dumbledore killed the Potters, and nearly Harry, by "borrowing" the Elder Cloak for inspection. Death caught the third brother's "son" eventually, via cloak-less James.
If James had the cloak the third brother used to escape death himself, one wonders how differently things might have gone when Voldemort came looking for Harry. I mean Voldemort was a badass, but surely Death was/is an even greater badass.

Yeah it definitely depends on the kid. My oldest liked them from a very young age, but my 10 year old still can't sit and listen to them.
In truth, she doesn't listen to us anyway, so that probably has something to do with it.

. Turns out he doesn't really like fiction at all. So far all I've found is the Farseer Trilogy from Robin Hobb that he likes. And he's old enough to read them on his own now.
Have you tried reading a biography of Stalin to him? he's his favorite, right? There actually is a pretty good book out about Mao.

Very cool. I forgot all about the Farseer Trilogy. That was on my to-read list years ago and I never got around to it. Have you tried the LotR with him? My kids enjoy Tolkien much more than I do.

LOL I asked him and he said 'Not by a long shot' about Stalin, but 'Mao was a funny guy, especially during the Beijing Olympics'
