Right! I did love that Davos was hell bent on killing her, armies of the damned be, uh, damned.
But there you are! Last shot of the episode. Sorceress lady confirms that she's really an old crone, wanders out in the snow, and dies. WHY. WHY LADY. Just suicidal? Secretly in love with NK, doesn't want to live without him, Romeo and Juliet style? She had foreknowledge of her death, or so it seemed. Lady, it's not magical foresight when you simply PLAN YOUR OWN SUICIDE.
No fucking sense. I bet it happens in the book and is explained in the book (lol book right), but on screen it will never be addressed. No time!
Yes--didn't George say something about Mel's being woefully misunderstood? Like she's somehow heroic?
I'm assuming she's only lived this long to take him out and now she can "rest?" Maybe? No idea.
But the Romeo and Juliet thing--makes as much sense as my idea.
And we won't know unless George gives it to us at Con--because he really doesn't want to write the books.

Re: Melissandre - and now her watch has ended. I'm just trying to figure out why she had to go back to Essos last season?
Put her affairs in order?
Get a new dress to die in?
One last tumble with her lover?
No idea. And we'll not find out any time soon.

And since they spent that bloody much on the dragons, they'd better give us Nymeria and her wolfpack!!!!
Let this dream die, friend. It will only bring you pain. All you get from here on out is Jon brooding over whether he wants to bone his aunt, Cersei boning whoever she has to (an elephant?) and probably more main characters dying in unsatisfying ways.
Also, does Bran thank Arya? Do they ever interact again? Does Bran become a shut-in? Do the writers just drop him like a hot potato now that the "fantasy" aspects of our story are dead, and only the erotic soap opera remains?
The lighting is dark, dark, dark - tough to see the details. And that makes it tough to follow the flow of the battle. I am not saying that it´s good...or shitty, because I fucking can´t tell. As is - choppy at best.
And that´s the whole point of the NK? If D&D made this up because you, George, didn´t give them anything - then, George, please enlighten us. In my lifetime, if possible.

HA!!!! When the Night King fell, I actually had a sick feeling Bran's eyes were about to turn blue as he became the next Night King.
I honestly almost wanted this to happen so it would be interesting and a twist. But I was foolish to expect an interesting twist! Shame on me! Shame, shame, shame...

Also Ghost just wandering off with Mormont. What? And I... I guess he lived?
I am glad that Ghost lived, because I did not catch that from the episode, but I was irritated beyond reason that Ghost was suddenly on Jorah Mormonts fooking right hand!
Their father understood as well. "You want no pup for yourself, Jon?" he asked softly.
Honestly, I had a hard time getting engaged in this episode. Perhaps because it was shot so dark, as well as all the quick cutaways made it difficult to see. It was probably only with about 20 minutes left that I felt like I was truly engaged in the episode, and that was when all seemed lost. Perhaps it was the piano music that finally caught me and my attention.
This--they only caught the "humanity" of it in the last section with the music. Whoever does the score needs a raise.
All the growling really undermines the horror of the dead--so much scarier in the books when they are Just silent.
But the moment between Alfie and Bran--that hit home. At least for me.

All true.
Just gotta hope they didn't have Ghost come back as a zombie for a reason.
Also, does Bran thank Arya? Do they ever interact again? Does Bran become a shut-in? Do the writers just drop him like a hot potato now that the "fantasy" aspects of our story are dead, and only the erotic soap opera remains?
And that's how they boxed themselves in again--bringing Bran home.
I've no idea if Bran ever gets out of the cave in the books. But he came back way too soon. Now what? He's going to have visions on how to rebuild Winterfell?? Teach meditation?

Traveling so I will have to catch up on this episode later.
Here's hoping everyone dies in the Battle of Winterfell!
...Except Sansa
Oh crap. Sorry for the minor spoiler, voice 😬😬 didn’t read this first
