Take hope, friend! Spoilers say some Dornish are showing up this episode or next.
It might get even worse!!!
All art is at once surface and symbol. Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril. Those who read the symbol do so at their peril. It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors. Oscar Wilde.
SlyWren, how was your popcorn ? I have now the feeling of having digested rancid popcorn
HA! Gave up on the popcorn and traded it for caramels.
I don't drink, but am thinking it might be worth starting.
That said: the spoilers you posted int eh other thread are spot on. And the endgame looks like the NK comes back.
So. . . take some antacids. Looks like we may all need them.

I wanted something more on the Night King, but evidently either D&D do not know anything more or they are just done and did not want to do anything else there.
Spoilers are now saying we're getting more backstory.
I actually fear the next three episodes and how much worse it can get! I have actually considered not watching anymore, but it's like an driving by an accident scene and you just have to look!
I think GRRM at least cares about his story, which seems more respectful that just publishing shite, although I think he has lost some of the joy in writing it.
I can buy that--but finishing it would show his readers more respect, not just respect for the story.
Still, if the spoilers are right and Bran says the NK's coming back. . . oy. This could get to whole new levels of madness.

Guys...errhh...*cough, cough*...you shit on the show, then you buy the Blue Rays???
Really?
I know most of the "Histories & Lore" eventually wind up on YouTube, but I'm an old school sucker and prefer to have the actual discs
I can't even watch the Extras now. All the talking about WHY the show was done how it is done. I can't watch them talk and hype things up when - in real life - it is hardly hot air. I won't buy S7 and 8. I can honestly say: as a show in general - from beginning to current - I like VIKINGS a lot better now.
I saw this last night and found it interesting. I am putting it here because it mostly deals with this episode. Episode 3.
This is from Emergency Awesome, which I don't usually watch, because it's a bit fluffy for me, but the clips from an interview with Miguel Sapcochnik were interesting. Again, like Battle of the Bastards, Sapochnik changed several things in the script. Some because of money, some because of time (although he had 50+ days to film, already) and some because he felt like it.
Okay, here is my issue with Mr. Sapochnik. He actually added to what was filmed that was not in the original scripts to give each of his characters (all 27 of them) a start, middle, and finish story in this battle, although he knew most of it would not ever make the final cut of the episode, then he doesn't film several things because he didn't find them interesting, such as 50 wolves (+ Nymeria) trying to take down an undead Viserion. (So, Nymeria and her wolf pack did make the script, just not Sapochnik's version). Another thing he opted for was to get rid of a sword fight with the Night King (because who wants to see that???) and opted for the slow, music video entrance into the Godswood with his bad boy white walkers in V-formation. What?
Those are a few things that stood out to me, but I was a bit blown away by this. d&d get a lot of shit for their story and scripting (and while it might be poor and they are writing stuff that is had to film (ie, like most narratives are) it seems like they might have been trying to hit on some major points that were foreshadowed or that people wanted to see, while the director (perhaps another monster who has grown too big for his britches) just films what he wants and changed the story at will. Much like he did with the Battle of the Bastards, which was filmed in chronological sequence and then when they ran out of time, they had to shoot an different ending than what was intended.
I understand that if you write stuff that is hard to film, it's going to be a challenge to the director and crew, but to add arcs within your story, knowing they are not intended for the overall plot, and then changing key points "because" makes him just as bad as d&d, at least as far as I am concerned.
It also makes me wonder what he might have changed in filming from the original script for Episode 5, as well? It just feels like the ball was dropped on so many levels this season.

Their father understood as well. "You want no pup for yourself, Jon?" he asked softly.

Indeed.
