My prediction: lots of people are going to die, including POV characters. I hope I am wrong
And hello fellow wolf. Glad to see your avatar.
Lol! I saw your avatar and thought you were POG

Someone is going to have a few rough days processing this!

I feel bad for he who must not be named here. He did put a lot of work into his huge essay. Too bad it's incorrect. Still, it doesn't detract from the effort he put into it.

Why must I always be the isle of crazy alone in an ocean of sensibility? The should to everybody else’s shouldn’t? The I-will to their better-nots?

GRRM actually addressed the issue many years ago as well. I'll try and find the SSM. I remember posting it in LmL's first astronomy essay though.

Damn, voice, I'm not telling you anything anymore! Piss anyone off lately?

Sorry I'm late to this discussion, but real life has been very hectic as of late. If the summary of GRRM's comments are correct a lot has changed with his opinion of the HBO show between now and when I heard GRRM at the Nacogdoches film festival last February. Back then he seemed very positive about the HBO show and was practically gushing about it. Apparently the last abortion of a season really soured him to it.
As for his other comments, not really too suprising. I mean, I think deep down we all know that probably 95% of the theories being banded about are wrong (including Rhaegar being Jon's father, heh). The real suprise is his comment that he is cutting enough out of his story to make another book. It kind of confirms my thoughts that he introduced too many plot elements in the last three books to be able to conclude this story within his lifetime. Kind of like a juggler who threw too many balls in the air and realizes that he's just going to have to let some of them drop unceremoniously to the floor to finish his act.
I think he may have already jettisoned a possible Robb Stark child when he went back and amended AFFC to excise the discrpency between Cat and Jaime's observations of Jeyne Westerling's hips.

Honestly though I think he could tie everything up, he's just lost the ability to do it succinctly. I'm re-reading storm of swords and he does the whole of tyrions trial, from arrest to head smash, in about 20 pages? And meereen gets taken off screen, as does yunkai. Can you imagine if that had been applied in a dance with dragons? Quentin wouldn't have been a pov, stannis would have reached winterfell in one chapter, jon would have dealt with the wildlings off screen...

I didn't know he did that...

It surprised me as well. It was mentioned by someone on the Westeros board but no one could confirm it. So I went out to a B&N looked through the latest AFFC edition and sure enough Jaime's description of about "Jeyne" left out her narrow hips.
this is a partial duplicate post I copied from TBC
voice said: If you get NDT I'll send you a whole case. We'll have to add him as an admin. We should probably set up a special account for GRRM while we're at it. No doubt he'll be wondering what happened to SH as well.
gotta reach for the stars, right? (See what I did there?). I think I'll email him, but also find the way to mail to him. Just keep asking and asking to join till we can start marketing as a forum for famous people only. In fact, the famous people can have their own RLJ debates to the side where the plebes can watch.
i'll throw in Klondikes for NDT, anyone else? He loves them. I will also promise him to never ever call Pluto,a planet here. Instant ban*, and we'll re-write the mod rules for him
*No! Come on, not really, we just say we will to convince him, but we will not mention Pluto a planet in his presence. Just when he's not around. I think he prefers the term 'dwarf planet'. I realized he was responsible for Pluto's murder, another reason not to make him hulk rage by calling Pluto a planet in his presence.

That really sucks ffr. I have been one of the folks hoping for Robb Jr.
