Not after what Howland Reed did to her brother!!! Wraith, I want us to be good friends. The very best. But she's meant for Barry. It is known.
Well, a good case can be made that if Quaithe isn't Shierra Seastar she really could be Ashara Dayne, just by her connection to the stars. That would almost be more tragic for Barry. He *just* missed her in Qarth. Like two ships, passing in the night...
Why must I always be the isle of crazy alone in an ocean of sensibility? The should to everybody else’s shouldn’t? The I-will to their better-nots?
I remember reading this thread when I registered, I just never commented on it.
Always thought Martin would work in the IB into a plot with LF at some point. There is a theory that Baelish was skimming funds from the loans the Crown took from the Iron Bank. The IB had some high rates of interest and he would contract those for a cut could also be a possibility.
This had me laugh for a good while because I imagined all three doing seppuku.
My favorite theory (that I really, reaaaally want it to be true) is an easy and well know one Septa Lemore = Lady Ashara Dayne. And I would like for Ser Gradpa to meet her again. But I don't see Barry surviving Essos.
We will see both Baelish and the Iron Bank in Winds. We shall see if they are in cahoots or oppositon.
It is known that Ashara is Lemore. Or Quaithe. Or *gasp* actually dead. Oh or married to Howland Reed.
100% on board with the Littlefinger-Braavos connection. It's so obvious that it can't possibly not bear fruit in the future. Especially since it's implied that the Iron Bank sends agents to destabilize realms where the leaders have failed to make good on their debts. These leaders often end up mysteriously dead.
"No true knight would condone such wanton butchery." "True knights see worse every time they ride to war, wench," said Jaime. "And do worse, yes." Brienne turned the rudder toward the shore. "I'll leave no innocents to be food for crows." "A heartless wench. Crows need to eat as well. Stay to the river and leave the dead alone, woman."

I see LF as a sort of Harren the Black. He has built this impenetrable fortress of deceit, lies and confidence tricks to allow him to rise to a significant position. He has played the game and has contingencies and plan b's for everything. That is except for the one thing that no one could have seen coming, dragons. So in the same way Harrenhall couldn't save King Harran from an unexpected foe, LF's machinations are going to come to naught when faced with dragons.

I think he is more aware about Dany than most.
"You would not believe half of what is happening in King's Landing, sweetling. Cersei stumbles from one idiocy to the next, helped along by her council of the deaf, the dim, and the blind. I always anticipated that she would beggar the realm and destroy herself, but I never expected she would do it quite so fast. It is quite vexing. I had hoped to have four or five quiet years to plant some seeds and allow some fruits to ripen, but now . . . it is a good thing that I thrive on chaos. What little peace and order the five kings left us will not long survive the three queens, I fear."
The first two queens are obvious. Cersei and Marge. The last I think is Dany.
Darkstar will be the next Vulture King.
Craster has 19 daughters and there are 19 castles on the Wall, coincidence I think not!
Daenerys Targaryen is one thing, dragons is a whole other ball game. Ball game is actually an apropos metaphor, LF is playing a game and masterfully so (imo) but I think the twist for his character is that he is going to find out too late he was playing the wrong game.
Of course i could be full of it and he may know full well about the dragons and he's seemingly not bothered because he thinks he's got them covered some how. Crackpot, LF in cahoots with Crow's Eye?!?

Littlefinger appears to be safe from Daenerys and her dragons on his own merits and he probably knows it; he is a powerful potential ally, widely perceived to be a financial wizard, with the added benefit of not being one of the Usurper's dogs. In fact, he was quite the opposite at the time of Robert's Rebellion. I could even see Dany sympathizing with the fact that he is too lowborn to be taken seriously by other Westerosi lords, and admiring his rise to power. Add to that Littlefinger's demonstrated willingness to jump to the winning side of a conflict as soon as possible, and we have a near-perfect political match, at least on the surface.
The hidden snag which could be Littlefinger's undoing, however, is a more recent development, of which he has likely not yet been informed. Tyrion has joined Dany's entourage in Meereen. Littlefinger has twice attempted to frame Tyrion for horrific crimes, and may have done even more than that behind the scenes, successfully turning the entire realm against him. If Dany turns up in Westeros with Tyrion at her side and dragons at their backs, it will likely be Tyrion more than anyone else who insists on taking the fight to Littlefinger.

Not my theory Nyx and not one I put a lot of stock in. No need to challenge me to trial by combat over it. That would be nice for Barristan.
Hah, I consider myself lucky With my skills, I would probably stab myself in the foot saving you any trouble
On a more serious note: I think that theory may have merit if Ashara was not aware of the circumstances of Ser Arthur Dayne's death. But still doesn't explain why Ser Barristan thought she was in love with a Stark.
“Don’t fight in the North, or the South. Fight every battle everywhere. Always, in your mind.”
Dany and Tyrion miss each other in Essos at least for the part of the book that he wrote at the time, and may return at different times/on different paths to Westeros. That's what Martin said about it if I recall correctly, though of course he was extremely cagey into not letting slip too much.

We usually aren't too fussed with spoiler tags around here, as long as it's something that has been released through official channels. All books, sample chapters and SSM's are fair game. We do try to spoiler any potential leaks that might come too close to the truth. i.e. Spanish Dude's videos during the GoT season.
