Alfie Allen really shows Theon's inner conflict well, even if he himself doesn't realize how conflicted he is.
Alfie is a fellow book nerd. He's even squeezed a few SSM's from the author. (like the Luke Skywalker connection...which ties into your unwritten theory.)
De-epicifying the North (capturing Ser Rodrik alone when he left with a bunch of men)... mehh.
Summarizing the capture of Winterfell after the fact... mehh.
A moving emotional heart wrenching scene where Ser Rodrik meets the Old Gods? Worth it.
The psychology of a scene.
Theon's lieutenant is seeing how far he can get him to go in this scene. He has already played on Theon's ego to get a more lucrative prize than the Stony Shore and now he wants to know exactly what he can make Theon do by pricking his ironborn pride. He is playing Theon like a lute and loving every second.
It's interesting to see Arya trying to be a spy for her family while captive at Harrenhal.
Too bad she didn't give Jaqen names that would've actually aided the north.
I always loved that she didn't. It's too damn easy and stinks of ex machina if she just names three main characters and the face-changing assassin offs them for her. It's a nice character point that she uses the names to improve her current situation, she's a practical girl.
Ol' J-Snow has a pretty messed up relationship with sex, let us speak truth here. I've actually been thinking about Jon's nearly moment with Ros (that he recounts to Sam). I can only extrapolate from the story that Theon must have taken Jon & Robb to the brothel (to make them men) and Jon bottled it for reasons. Did Robb? I reckon not. Tell me I'm insane, tell me that didn't happen. It did and you know it.

You're completely right of course. Still, it is frustrating when you know the Red Wedding is nigh.
"I can see it. You have more of the north in you than your brothers."
