Finally, all 50 episodes are in the bag! I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to wrap it up by Sunday. I was tweeting this episode so I'll try to pull a summary out from my tweets. It just seemed like this episode was way too long. I realize it was slightly extended, but I was really ready for it to be over by the time it was.
Well, the snow melted but the troops ran away. And Selyse, who was only convinced to bring her daughter along because the Lord of Light needed her is suddenly offended enough by the burning to hang herself. Uh, ok. Then Mel just suddenly decides to high tail it back to Castle Black. Guess she's not good at facing the consequences of her actions.
While Jon has tales of the disaster at Hardhome, Sam discusses his sexcapades with Gilly and suddenly decides he needs to be a Maester. Lucky Jon approves since Gilly and the baby are all packed up and ready to go.
Stannis gets his ass handed to him and then Brienne's arrives to take his head. The angle of the sword stroke is completely off for anything other than slicing him open diagonally.
Miranda catches Sansa after her ill times candle lighting, but it's Theon to the rescue and solar goes Miranda. Then splat goes Theon and Sansa.
We are how sick Meryn Trant really is, but Arya might even have him beat. What a nasty murder. Arya does pay with her blindness, but that whole face removing series is a bit strange. Especially when the wait turns into Jaqen in a dress.
Myrcella says goodbye to Dorne. She does quite a bit faster than Bronn seems like he would have. Puts Ellaria in a pretty precarious position for when Doran finds out. I can't decide if Myrcella's acceptance of Jaime as her father rings true or not. She had to have heard rumors somewhere as they were pretty widespread, but Joff fought the obvious conclusion pretty hard.
Seems like Daario might have something up his sleeve as he takes advantage of the situation to decide who does what and implements it before anyone can question it.
And, POP, goes the Spider! Welcome to Mereen, Varys. Just in time to help a brother out.
Doesn't look like Drogon is in the mood to go anywhere. Thank god we get to skip the diarrhea. How many mounted warriors does it take to capture one small girl? And, yes, Dany, drop that ring in the middle of nowhere. Jorah and Daario should be along with the metal detector shortly.
You have to wonder how much of Cersei's confession the High Sparrow actually believes? He seems pretty excited about her atonement. Lena Heady does a wonderful job with the walk of shame. Odd that the stones of the RED keep now appear to be tan.
Jon Snow defends the watch and Wildings to Davos, but Melisandre's return makes it a moot point.
Benjen is ALIVE! Oh, Olly, you cruel child. Like nobody saw that coming from several miles away.
For the Watch.
Why must I always be the isle of crazy alone in an ocean of sensibility? The should to everybody else’s shouldn’t? The I-will to their better-nots?
