5. Mostly because you can tell where all the techies and money went. Beyond that, I thought the battle rather predictable, narrative speaking, not that I expected the battle to really "shake things up" but it just didn't "wow" me.
At the moment, I am voting a 7. Loved that the dragons are in play, loved that the character-lines are starting to come together. For once, Meereen was my favorite part! Not sorry to have Ramsey gone the way he did. Good for Sansa, but again, she doesn't see the wider picture. Looking forward to Jon in the Crypts!

Dude. You need to watch it again. This is the first time the dragons didn't look completely cheesy. I actually couldn't even tell they were using a big ole blow torch this time. The battle results might have been somewhat predictable, but the cinematography was amazing!!! AND Sansa fed Ramsey to his own dogs!!!! I'm calling this one a:
10!!!
Why must I always be the isle of crazy alone in an ocean of sensibility? The should to everybody else’s shouldn’t? The I-will to their better-nots?
9. logic was horrible, but the cinematography alone deserves a 9.
Mereen was good for once. dragons were awesome. The fight in the North was brutal. Northern army is done, there is nothing left on either side. Sansa watching at the end was a bit unnerving, and jon pummeling Ramsay was cathartic. hopefully the finale can match this intensity.
4. I liked the dragons (not the fighting scenes in the Meereen, just the dragons) but not the story line or dialogue. I also think the battle was really well shot.
But it truly did not entertain me, everything seemed chopped: Dragons attacking the ships, Dany/Tyrion discussions, the parley (and the lack of "winter is coming"), Jon not taking Rickon and tell him something like "got you" or hug him or something (what is this obsession these people have with revenge? They butchered that scene for an angry/revengeful scene which did not work for me), Sansa being incredibly psychopathic, Ramsey's manner of dying, Wun Wun's manner of dying, Jon and a giant and a wildling being the ones to conquer WF (instead of some loyal northerners), the casual manner of Winterfell going from Boltons to Starks.
Cinematography, costumes, set, and props are all supposed to support the actors & story.
In theatre we have an old maxim, if you spent the show admiring the sets, costumes, and lighting, then they were a distraction from what the show is supposed to be about.
I hold film to the same standard. If I'm too distracted by everything else going on, then something is wrong with what the show is supposed to be about.
All spectacle, and little substance makes for a starving audience.

Pretty much sums it up for me.
I loved the cinematography and effects, and Yara's butt alone warrants a 10-rating, her flirting with Dany warrants a 12...but I can't do it.
I was entertained, very entertained, but I want the story to make sense.
It didn't.
5's where it's at imo, and that is only because of Drogon's cgi and Yara's close up. If the episode had just been them, I'd give it a 10.

So is the pairing going to be Yany or Dara? Daenra or Yanerys?
Darkstar will be the next Vulture King.
Craster has 19 daughters and there are 19 castles on the Wall, coincidence I think not!

I share your reasons, but give it a 7.5, rounded up to 8. It was thoroughly entertaining, money well spent, but didn't move me in the slightest in contrast to The Door, which is what I reserve 9s and 10s for.

I hear what you're saying, but I didn't find those things to be a distraction. For me they helped to pull me in. It is only on reflection that I can tell you how good they were and the main reason for that is that I was not distracted by them at all. I struggled to even post anything during the episode as I didn't want to miss anything. It's been a while since I felt that way.
It might not be the books, or have the depth of the books, but when has it ever? I try not to compare the two. They are entirely different. Needless to say, despite the Sansa weirdness, I was most definitely entertained.
