Got downvoted into oblivion. 10/10 Jimmies rustled, would do again lol.
Well done!
My favorite response:
"Lyanna screams as Ned and Arthur begin their dance. Although the dream is not necessarily literal, this does seem to imply a connection between the two events in Ned's mind. A connection between Lyanna pleading and him fighting Arthur to the deathA connection between Lyanna pleading and him fighting Arthur to the death"-- one of the greatest reaches I have ever seen in my life
I'm assuming said poster is not fond of yoga.
And doesn't know the definition of literary "reach"--if it's juxtaposed in the plain text itself, it ain't a reach, friend.
It's all supposed to be theory.
It's all supposed to be fun.
What on earth happens if/when RLJ doesn't end up being right? I'm thinking heads might explode.
All art is at once surface and symbol. Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril. Those who read the symbol do so at their peril. It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors. Oscar Wilde.

Lol!
Way to be @superunknown5! Though, as soon as you hit the post button, you should have heard the Rains of Castamere start playing...
All kidding aside, I think you did a really great job putting together your AD +L = J essay. In fact, when I first started lurking on boards, I was excited to see that there were others who thought it possible that Jon may have a Dayne parent. A lot of the symbolism could also work for Ashara, but I have always leaned toward Lyanna as Jon's mother. I know I have posted this before, but if it holds that Ned actually did end Arthur's life, I find the irony of Jon's father killing his biological father way too interesting and extremely tragic. He basically orphaned his nephew. (And, just to clarify, I am strictly speaking from the point of view of a plot written in a fantasy book, not real life ).
Regardless, whenever (if ever?) Martin reveals Jon's parents in the books, regardless of who they turn out to be, I'm interested to see how he'll write Jon's reaction. I think it is going to be a huge kick in the gut for Jon if he finds out Ned is not his father. Also, I'll be interested in seeing what part Jon will play in the song from a magical angle.
I never use reddit. I didn't realize it was such a dogmatic community.
I actually used Reddit at one point, but only posted once or twice. Lost my patience, a little. I may have to dust off the old Reddit account just to RSVP to Super's Red Wedding.

I have an account too. Used it to respond to interest in my Weirwood Ghost theory. But haven't touched it since.
"I can see it. You have more of the north in you than your brothers."
Yet people want to rally to equations like bannerman to their lords and wage war. Tsk tsk.
Well, I've gotten caught up in waging war myself. Doesn't bring out my best, by any means.
But I can usually correct pretty fast--otherwise, it's no fun at all.

I'm pretty fond of E+A=J (thread). But A+L=J (thread) sure is making a lot of sense in my head-canon (yes, I have a thread for my head cannon too: thread). Lol

Btw, @superunknown5, I couldn't help but notice that you linked to the freeforums.net address. We also have www.thelasthearth.com now too. If you go to it, and haven't already logged in at the domain, you will have to log in again. It makes no matter though, it's all the same. Only difference is the address for your thread is a bit shorter:
How fare the waters of Westeros? Are they attempting civility, or is it cats and dogs?
my latest attempt was met by a terse reply indicating 'self denial' very much like the mule with kevin bacon.
There is still civility there on obscure threads though.
"Arya did not dare take a bath, even though she smelled as bad as Yoren by now, all sour and stinky. Some of the creatures living in her clothes had come all the way from Flea Bottom with her; it didn’t seem right to drown them."
