Is Jon Snow the Darth Vader of ASOIAF? Work in progress

You know, in rewatching these movies, I have actually seen many parallels, but been so tired forgot to write them down. For example, "the red comet". Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I rewatched the originals (and prequels ) but The Force Awakens is hogging up all of my mental capacity these days. Just watched it for the second time last night. It is truly a flawless Star Wars movie. But anyway, I digress. The Red Comet came to my mind last night as a large red light streaked across Kylo Ren's field of vision. (No spoilers there, as the trailer shows the same scene I'm talking about.) Are you talking about a red comet moment in the originals?

Another thought. We were talking a while back about the "force" that connects a sword to its wielder, and possible reasons why Jon's sword might burn red - of all colors. I was just thinking that the Others' swords, which I've speculated are closer to milkglass than they are steel, would have a blueish shimmer - yet be capable of producing red light. In fact, that is the only light they would project, as the blue end of the spectrum is absorbed and diffracted. Anyway, I was just thinking this ties into eye color a bit. The Others have blue eyes, and a blue force seems to give them life. Ghost has red eyes, and Jon's sword burns red.

When (if) they clash, I'm imagining a song of purple lightning.

Oh, and voice, don't forget badass Master Windu's purple saber!

I heard that Samuel L Jackson came to an agreement that he wanted a special light saber if he was going to do the film. I've also read- and this may be in the expanded universe and not canon whitewolfstark would know- that Windu was a Sith Lord who converted to the Light and became a powerful Jedi master instead. This was never hinted in the movies that I can recall, so that might be an expanded universe theory.

I'll go with Master Obi-Sam-Jackson's ego on this one

I am not a big Star Wars nerd at all. A friend of mine who is, told me things and I've run into a few things online, but other than that. Let me just say when it comes to Star Wars vs Star Trek, I'm much more on the Trek end than the Wars end. I like both, but Star Trek has my attention far more.

Though if you want to know more about the Expanded Universe you could always look at Wookiepedia.
