He did destroy the Sith. He just became one first.
Must've gotten trapped in prequel-thinking.
Just a thought, but maybe it's indicative of the source of the connection with the weaponry. For example is it fueled by blood or soul?
The Others on the other hand seem blue-spectrum in both blood and soul. The eyes that shine like stars are too constant and animating to be due to optical effects alone.
With Beric, it was his blood. Bran is told that his blood makes him a greenseer. I'm wondering if Jon's blood makes him something even more unique. And though I don't want it to happen, Ghost's absence in that dream stands out to me. Not a good omen for the weirwood wolf.
Maybe both blue and red can each be both good and bad. With Star Wars, etc, we've had our minds trained that light is good and dark bad.
You can't really look at fire and ice in the same absolutes. You need both sides to survive.
Do you imagine it as being more similar to Earth Sidious's force lightening or the Dondarrion Sigil/banners?
A Game of Thrones - Prologue
The pale sword came shivering through the air.
Ser Waymar met it with steel. When the blades met, there was no ring of metal on metal; only a high, thin sound at the edge of hearing, like an animal screaming in pain. Royce checked a second blow, and a third, then fell back a step. Another flurry of blows, and he fell back again.

...and the screams they make when contacting flame...
A Storm of Swords - Samwell I
"Get away!" Grenn took a step, thrusting the torch out before him. "Away, or you burn." He poked at it with the flames.
The Other's sword gleamed with a faint blue glow. It moved toward Grenn, lightning quick, slashing. When the ice blue blade brushed the flames, a screech stabbed Sam's ears sharp as a needle. The head of the torch tumbled sideways to vanish beneath a deep drift of snow, the fire snuffed out at once. And all Grenn held was a short wooden stick. He flung it at the Other, cursing, as Small Paul charged in with his axe.

If one were holding a flaming sword, I would think the song would reach a new height. Faint blue glow meets burning red fire. The sky purples when blue stars are confronted by the Rising Son. :::
You do have a point there. I think that part of my problem is that it's such a crazy statement. Plus no matter how you look at it, it's hard to recognize what value it could have to our story. Maybe if it's teaching Bran about information that might be helpful down the line???
But yes, I think Bran is shown not only things that exist in the present during his two eyes closed, third eye open, spirit flight - I think he's show their inherent power.
Beneath the sunrise, just before the comet is first glimpsed by humans with two eyes open, Bran sees dragons stirring. And sure enough, when Dany receives her eggs, she can feel them stirring within... like any expectant mother. So they were indeed stirring, albeit in an embryonic state.
To the non-gifted, the dragon eggs were no more than pretty rocks. To Dany, they felt alive. To Bran, they were stirring just beyond the horizon (where the red comet would be).
Old Nan may not have a third-eye, but her nose comes pretty damn close.
Well, Beric does have the purple lightning symbolism.
And, interestingly, Lightning arrived like a much needed sword to aid the first Lord Dondarrion.
