There's the stark maiden at the end of the Bael the Bard tale, and there's another quote in The Sworn Sword. Also, doesn't one of the Targaryan princesses either get pushed or fall from a tower?

Interesting considering the Faceless Men keep like every single god. Jaqen rightly associates the eminent death of he and his companions with the fire that was about to consume them. Definitely an elemental thing. One of his victims also falls at Harrenhal, I believe, but he may have already been dead.

Jaqen, in order to spare his own life, then brings "the gift" to many more people... at least in part for that original debt to the Fire/Fire God.

The airy Eyrie certainly feels like Air. The Moon Door is a part of it, that hangs above Stone, Snow and Sky.

Interestingly, this is precisely how Winter is striated. Stone crust of the Earth, covered in Snow, with Sky overhead. Then, there's the Moon. Always waxing, waning, touching the earth, rising from it, entering the Cup of Fire (solar eclipse) and the Cup of Ice (lunar eclipse).

Like Arya the cupbearer, she (the Moon) seems to be the messenger between elements, surrounded by her starry khalasar, and one Bloodrider that travels in her wake (the ecliptic) - a star of the morning and a star of the evening - but is ever at the side of her husband - the Sun.

Bran the Broken? Or Bran the Earthly? All a matter of perspective. He's the boy baked out of clay - wet earth.

Maybe I need to look up electronically deaths by falling using keywords or something. The Faceless Men interest me, because they seem to hedge their bets. Do all gods give magic to those who pay tribute? The FM aren't followers of R'hllor, but Jaqen acknowledges his importance all the same. They have some weird kind of magic to be able to skimchange into different people- shit I just mad the connection about how this was the ultimate sin along with beastiality while warging. I know the FM don't quite warging into live people- it doesn't seem that way, but still weird, right? Who gives them their magic and power?

The Dothraki just mock all the gods they conquer and take them to Vaes Dothrak. But they don't seem to suffer any consequences. Jaqen seems to revere all of the gods, kind of like a pantheon of just 1 in many parts. I need to see the new PJ videos.

YUP! And, in this case, tied to violence and salvation--which only leads to more danger. Moon Door=a symbol constantly in flux. Dangerous and inconstant ("oh, swear not by the moon!").


So, does it have to be an elemental, or just a "passage?" Back to liminal spaces (sorry)--the fall is a transition through a liminal space. In Bran's case, he gets stuck for a while in dream land. Arguable, Sansa is also stuck--in the air/Eyrie. And in her identity. Especially now with Lysa's death--she's complicit in the lie (unless she can figure how to leverage it).
Hmmm would Arya also be stuck in transition with the faceless men?



In a way, in that moment, the KG are "fallen." Their king is dead. They are fighting for a lost cause. But going into a fray where they could fall willingly--unlike Lysa or Bran, they "choose" to fall. Or at least choose the risk.

Maybe, but there's the constellation of stars--which is still visible in dawn-light.

The Martells could arguably (key word is "arguably") be considered to be focusing on the sun fully risen. The full sun. But the Sword of the Morning and Dawn and the falling star on their sigil--those are moments of transition--the falling of night into day.

How about Reek and Fake Arya's fall from the Winterfell walls, ending those identities and bringing back Theon and Jeyne Poole?

wasn't that only on the show? but if falling is a symbol, like people's hands getting cut off in star wars, perhaps they picked up on a pattern..
