This is a very weird exchange:
"Ironborn must not spill the blood of ironborn." "A pious sentiment, Damphair," said Goodbrother, "but not one that your brother shares. He had Sawane Botley drowned for saying that the Seastone Chair by rights belonged to Theon." "If he was drowned, no blood was shed," said Aeron. The maester and the lord exchanged a look. - The Prophet, AFfC
If we know anything about Aeron, it's that he is genuinely pious to the point of fanaticism, and he is not interested in wasting words on jokes. If this very literal rule about bloodshed is more or less official dogma in the Drowned God religion, what does that tell us about the blood itself? What happens to the blood once it is shed? Does it act as fertilizer, to keep a certain type of plant from turning to stone?
"No true knight would condone such wanton butchery." "True knights see worse every time they ride to war, wench," said Jaime. "And do worse, yes." Brienne turned the rudder toward the shore. "I'll leave no innocents to be food for crows." "A heartless wench. Crows need to eat as well. Stay to the river and leave the dead alone, woman."
Dornish Neck Tie, What stands out to me is that this seems to be similar in ideology to what we see in Vaes Dotrak. All Khalasars are one under the Mother of Mountains. They even hand over all of their weapons there. Yet they allow eunuch stranglers in the market areas.
Why must I always be the isle of crazy alone in an ocean of sensibility? The should to everybody else’s shouldn’t? The I-will to their better-nots?

Speaking of similarities between Ironborn and Dothraki, both seem to think that men first arose from the depths of the sea. The Womb of the World is now just a lake, but the World Book says the Dothraki plains used to be a large body of water.
