I started following JKR on Twitter and she has a lot of interesting things to say.
And when fans ask her stuff, she doesn't offer them some signed comic books or tell them, "You'll have to wait for the next book," she just, well, answers stuff. It's really weird.
So I thought I'd make a place to drop/discuss her post-novel Harry Potter universe clarifications.
"I can see it. You have more of the north in you than your brothers."
And this started after she clafiried for a twitter troll that Nicholas Flamel never died during the books. I thought he did for some reason. Convo is in the article below:
Reading Harry Potter to the widgets and I am noticing in terms of writing she is ... average ... among published authors. That said, she tells a really good story and her antics on Twitter make me want to marry her. Or at least a hot and heavy roll in the cornfield.
As soon as the cameras are off I am going to fuck that little dog.

Her prose is... functional, shall we say. She's no de Bernières but she's far above, say an Ernest Cline (Ready Player One is... I can't even... it's so bad). She describes things very well and that, I think, is a large part of her success. That and obviously the story, which (while derivative) is pretty much perfection.
I think HP is great, but I agree the prose is more functional than inspirational.
I think it's meant to be that way to some degree. It was written for a very young audience, and yet is able to convey some incredibly heavy ideas to that audience.

I'll certainly do that (ps, you should totally get sorted on Pottermore & do the Patronus test, good times)
So this isn't exactly an SSR but gorram, if you get Harry Potter feels I'm warning you right now, this may kill you or at least render you a wobbly, jelly-like creature for a serious period of time. This is one of the best fan edits I've ever seen.
