Yup same here. I had forgotten how accurate the first season was. It feels rushed and there are still some funny additions/subtractions, but it's far closer to the book.

I agree. When it premiered I was trying to talk the hubs into watching. I told him that you could almost use the book as the script it was so close. Boy how things have changed! I had forgotten just how frequently Lyanna comes up. It does feel rushed but that's bc Tweedle Dumb and Tweedle Dee are trying to squeeze something so epic into 10 hours! They could do 1 hour per chapter and still barely get it all in.
The blade was Valyrian steel, spell-forged and dark as smoke. Nothing held an edge like Valyrian steel.

I changed my mind. I have convinced everyone else that the only things that need to be done around here are outside and the weather is too crappy for that. Mwahahahaha!

I'd like to remark that I don't know which role, but I would've loved to see Jonathan Rhys Myers cast in GoT. Maybe as Oberyn Martell, though I like the dude they cast. I keep thinking Javier Peña, but that's his name in Narcos. Myers is awesome in period pieces, and his dark hair, piercing blue eyes, strong facial features would make him an awesome main character. He'd be a great Rhaegar if Rhaegar had been dark. He just plays a good badass and is a good actor in general. If he was younger, he'd be a perfect Jon Snow because he plays Elmo characters well. He broods a lot.
Damn. I wonder if he auditioned for anything? Even Euron. I like him as a bad guy. I'm kind of surprised because he's a big actor in Britain and also worked with Nathalie Dormer in Tudors. It was weird when he got fat, though.

Eh, this episode isn't as compelling as the others. ROb Stark acts like a stuck up asshole to Tyrion. Jon Snow is a model Stark, playing the hero to save Sam. Arya might be a lesbian (plot twist!) and Baelish is rolling out the. Red carpet to Ned Stark's death, and he's falling for it like the fool he is.

DarkSister1001, good catch with the fisherman's wife! Maybe not so coincidentally, Dance was released after the first season. So I wonder if Martin took that from the show to fuck with us, or he shared with D&D

*** It’s good that Sam is a better actor than he appears to be when we are first introduced to him.
*** Watch the background actors playing with swords. They must be getting paid minimum wage for the effort their putting in...
*** Sansa and Septa Mordane cover a history lesson and rehash how the Mad King had her grandfather and uncle murdered in that room.
*** Jon Arryn and the family lineage of the Barratheon’s. “The seed is strong” Jon Arryn’’s last words.
*** Arrya out chasing cats.
*** Odd conversation on how much Sam’s father hates him. Seems kind of forced.
*** Baelish warns Ned not to trust anyone. Spies are everywhere in KingsLanding.
*** King Roberts bastard is introduced. In truth, Gendry has the best claim to the throne of all involved.
*** A whore named Roz. How romantic...
*** Rhaegar was the last dragon. Jorah, obviously doesn’t believe in Vicsery’s plan to take back Westeros. I think at this moment he is still just a Barrateon spy.
*** I love the Mountain scene where he storms off after fighting with the Hound. Anyone else notice they had a bunch of midgets dressed up to make the Mountain look bigger?
*** I wonder why Littlefinger shared the backstory to the Hound with Sansa and then followed it up with a threat not to share it?
*** Tyrion gets arrested.
Not nearly as interesting as the last episode.
