Danys eggs seem to be calling to the fire and she can hear them. Idk if it was the nature of the eggs or poor scripting for it to get so hot so fast. I like how they showed their hands after grabbing it.
Interesting. In the pilot Bran is practicing archery. A few episodes later he's talking about how he'll never shot a bow again and Luwin tells him about the Dothraki. In this episode when the raven (ick) visits his dream and directs him to the crypts he had been shooting his bow. If he wanted to be a knight why is he only shown with a bow instead of a sword? Why not mix it up? They even skipped his fight with Tommen in the yard.
Side note, I HATE that he's the 3 eyed raven instead of crow.
Theon is trying to live as Lord via Robb. Early indicators that he's simply not leadership material.
Tonks! I mean Osha! They dudes certainly look like they're wearing Night's Watch gear.
I don't like how Robb chastised Theon. He saved Brans life.
Syrio might be the best therapist!
Dany eating the stallions heart is a very powerful scene. We see her strength, Drogos love and faith and Viscerys' fear.
The Stallion the Mounts the World is the Khal of Khals and he'll unite the people of the world. Interesting that both Joff and Robert earlier made comments about needing a united army.
Jorah saved Danys dragons.
Lol, even the Vale doesn't like pigeons perching and shitting on the buildings.
I really wish Tyrion would be able to finish his honeycomb and jackass story.
Lysa has taken to being an Arryn much more so the Cat has taken to be a Stark.
Lol, making the 8. Renly is disgusted with Robert. I suspect that has a lot to do with his recent conversation with Loras.
LF isn't exactly subtle about goading Ned.
Is that the same actor that plays Beric later? He looks so different later that I can't tell.
I can't decide if I like the moon door on the floor or on the wall. It does make the fight scene more suspenseful.
Sansa is such a little shit. I would like to hear more about Septa Mordane.
Thank the Gods for Roz!
Out of the mouths of babes. Even Ned couldn't control is face when Sansa said she didn't wait someone good and brave, she wanted Joffrey.
A crown for King. I like the thud when his head hits the ground.
The blade was Valyrian steel, spell-forged and dark as smoke. Nothing held an edge like Valyrian steel.
I'm still tired so quick comment. Dany watching her brother die and not feeling anything was the moment I started to feel her character started to become an antagonist.
“Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.” ― George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones

Her monotone, "fire can't kill a dragon" was very Aerys-esque

OK, time for one more episode before I head off to help my friend at work tonight.
*** Ned vs. Cersai... I love Robert Baratheon! I would love to see a mini-series exploring the three of these characters back during the rebellion.
*** “I am the King. I get what I want.” ~ Robert Baratheon
*** Jaime Lannister gets as close as he ever has to becoming the Hand of the King.
*** Three-eyed raven brings Bran to the crypts of Winterfell. Why? Here’s what we know.
Winterfell is heated by warm underground springs
Starks always are buried deep in the crypts for some reason. This was pointed out first thing in the pilot episode. Lyanna couldn’t be buried under a tree because she’s a stark.
There must always be a Stark in Winterfell. This has never been fully explained as far as I know.
Bran will never walk again, but someday he will fly.
------> Any guesses why? Is there a dragon or flying beast deep underground of Winterfell that can only be controlled by a Stark?
*** Robbs anger at Theon seems forced. I know they had a small squabble beforehand, but Theon basically saved Brans life.
*** I love Mord!
*** I also love Syrial Forell.
*** "There is only God, and his name is death, and there is only one thing we say to death...Not today.” ~ Syrial Forell
*** Live motion of The Last Hearth Valentines Day banner...
*** Surprised that Dany didn’t get e-coli from eating that horse.
*** Dany’s progression happens fast, but it is interesting how earlier she is depressed and tries to burn herself by heating the dragon egg up. At least I imagine that is what she is doing as I don’t think she realizes yet she is immune to fire. Later on, after she eats the horse the Dothraki start cheering for her and her mood changes as she realizes that she is loved by her husbands people. That seems to embolden both Jorah and Dany.
*** Does Jorah deny Viserys the dragon eggs because he considers him the larger threat to Westeros, or because he views Dany as the larger obstacle and wants to gain her trust so he can stay closer, or is this where he becomes a supporter of Dany’s cause?
*** Tyrion confessing his crimes is among the funniest scenes in the entire show!!!
*** The Moon Door in the show is much better than the Moon Door in the books. Though the Moon Door in the books makes more sense.
*** The kings hunting trip looks so small and dumb. I can’t believe that they couldn’t get 20 extras to fill in the space instead of Kings Baratheon’s hunting group consisting of 3 other people.
*** Ned Stark sentences Ser Gregor Clegane to death. Did that decree ever get reversed after Ned stepped down and eventually got killed?
*** I think Ned Stark would have been the best King in Westeros despite him getting his head chopped off.
*** Bronn is another of my favorites
*** You don’t fight with honor! “No, he did...”
*** Still surprised they let Tyrion leave though.
*** I wonder if someone stole the gold from More afterwards?
*** Sansa is such a bitch to the Septor.
*** Sansa begging to stay with Joffrey she says that he is not a Baratheon because he’s nothing like that drunk king. I think that is when Ned connects the dots and realizes what Jon Arryn was searching for.
*** Yep, that’s when he opens the book up of the great houses!
*** I always found it funny that they melted gold over an open flame. I mean the soup wasn’t even boiling when they dumped it out.

She really is. She betrayed her pack, and lost her wolf for it. Between her and Catelyn, House Stark has little need for enemies. While I do think her plot is fubar'd when compared to the books, I am very interested to see what HBO has her do this season.

She might have been buried beneath a tree after all, just an elder one.
The crypts of Winterfell are adjacent to the godswood, and we know the roots of weirwoods roam far and wide.
Must mention this passage:
"They were the Kings in the North for thousands of years," Maester Luwin said, lifting the torch high so the light shone on the stone faces. Some were hairy and bearded, shaggy men fierce as the wolves that crouched by their feet. Others were shaved clean, their features gaunt and sharp-edged as the iron longswords across their laps. "Hard men for a hard time. Come." He strode briskly down the vault, past the procession of stone pillars and the endless carved figures. A tongue of flame trailed back from the upraised torch as he went. The vault was cavernous, longer than Winterfell itself, and Jon had told him once that there were other levels underneath, vaults even deeper and darker where the older kings were buried. It would not do to lose the light. Summer refused to move from the steps, even when Osha followed the torch, Bran in her arms.
AGOT, Bran III
Those older, deeper, darker kings sure do remind me of some others who are gaunt and wield sharp-edged longswords.

My own theory as to the why has to do more with Weir-powers and trees with eyes. But there may be simpler explanations:
The World of Ice and Fire - The North: Winterfell The inner walls, which were once the only defensive walls, are estimated to be some two thousand years old, and perhaps some sections are older still. In later years, a defensive moat was dug around them, then a second wall was raised beyond the moat, giving the castle a formidable defense. The inner walls stand a hundred feet high, the outer walls eighty; any attacker who succeeded in capturing the outer wall would still find defenders on the inner walls loosing spears and stones and arrows down at him. We can dismiss Mushroom's claim in his Testimony that the dragon Vermax left a clutch of eggs somewhere in the depths of Winterfell's crypts, where the waters of the hot springs run close to the walls, while his rider treated with Cregan Stark at the start of the Dance of the Dragons. As Archmaester Gyldayn notes in his fragmentary history, there is no record that Vermax ever laid so much as a single egg, suggesting the dragon was male. The belief that dragons could change sex at need is erroneous, according to Maester Anson's Truth, rooted in a misunderstanding of the esoteric metaphor that Barth preferred when discussing the higher mysteries.

Book-Ned gives credit to Sansa and Arya far more explicitly:
"Sweet one," her father said gently, "listen to me. When you're old enough, I will make you a match with a high lord who's worthy of you, someone brave and gentle and strong. This match with Joffrey was a terrible mistake. That boy is no Prince Aemon, you must believe me." "He is!" Sansa insisted. "I don't want someone brave and gentle, I want him. We'll be ever so happy, just like in the songs, you'll see. I'll give him a son with golden hair, and one day he'll be the king of all the realm, the greatest king that ever was, as brave as the wolf and as proud as the lion." Arya made a face. "Not if Joffrey's his father," she said. "He's a liar and a craven and anyhow he's a stag, not a lion." Sansa felt tears in her eyes. "He is not! He's not the least bit like that old drunken king," she screamed at her sister, forgetting herself in her grief. Father looked at her strangely. "Gods," he swore softly, "out of the mouth of babes …" He shouted for Septa Mordane. To the girls he said, "I am looking for a fast trading galley to take you home. These days, the sea is safer than the kingsroad. You will sail as soon as I can find a proper ship, with Septa Mordane and a complement of guards … and yes, with Syrio Forel, if he agrees to enter my service. But say nothing of this. It's better if no one knows of our plans. We'll talk again tomorrow."
IIRC they were afraid it would cause confusion for watchers since the NW are called Crows. Same reason they changed Asha and the Others. The dumbing down of beautiful literature!
