...as long as he doesn't attack Voice in wight fashion!
This would be so awesome. I'd be like the United Airlines guy, but tackled by GRRM!
I could give sad interviews and press conferences. "I've always been a loyal passenger on the GRRMtrain." "I never thought I could be attacked for asking a writer about writing." "He didn't even offer to re-accomodate me with another book!" ...and just burst into tears. LOL

I'm sorry - There's only the 'like' and 'lol' buttons - and you can only click them once. there needs to be a 'just laughed until I almost threw up' button - THAT one I'd click for this comment... lmfao
Maybe forget about asking a question, just give him the answer- "they all die except Sansa who rules over a dying realm as the plebs starve to death after the ravages of the war"

at least Sansa should be left with a mate to share the despair with (and juicy screen time, good for the ratings). And no, it can't be the author!
Actually it is a good idea to speed up the writing: just drop characters right, left and centre (hello Benjen and co), until there are only a few left to be killed in some devious 'ramsey' like plot. Cant be that hard.
"Arya did not dare take a bath, even though she smelled as bad as Yoren by now, all sour and stinky. Some of the creatures living in her clothes had come all the way from Flea Bottom with her; it didn’t seem right to drown them."
a Wild Card question got 1 vote.... i suggest that it belongs in the 'hmmmm' thread.

The following is a list of (serious) questions that have been suggested in comments. I will add them to a new poll later this week. We'll plan on Saturday April 22, that should give everyone time to post their ideas for questions. Then we'll start the vote for the best question.
Were the three shadows at the Trident 1. The Hound 2. Ser Barristan 3. Ser Ilyn?
Does Lyanna's statue have a direwolf at her feet, and, did it once have a wooden tourney sword?
Will Maege Mormont and Galbert Glover make a return to the story?
Why Ben Jen?
Did the silent sisters have a more major role than the common man suspects to play in replacing beliefs in the old gods?
They all die except Sansa who rules over a dying realm as the plebs starve to death after the ravages of the war, right?
If I missed any just let me know and I'll add them.

What the fuck voice , where are my questions? If you want to get lied to then fine, ask the questions you have listed, but he’s not going to finish the book so he’s just going to lie to you. My questions will hold GRRM’s feet to the flame! I want to read about the nerd riots that you provoked. I want to see picture of people gluing the spines of books back together like they were performing spinal surgery. I want to see people crying over paper cuts! That’s your job Voice! Make it happen! You know you want to...
(OK, so I reread this post this morning, and I should make a disclaimer that it should be read tongue in cheek...)
I think you should ask him something related to Dawn or House Dayne. You'll just need to phrase it in such a way as to get an actual answer...
Alternatively, it would be interesting to know if, when an Other is killed, its ice sword melts along with it. In Sam's encounter, the Other stabs Small Paul, who then falls and thereby wrenches the sword from its owner. Sam then kills Ser Puddles, who apparently melts pretty completely. But what about the sword? Is it still sticking out of Small Paul? Could someone theoretically take it and use it? Oooh maybe that should be the question: is it possible for a human to wield an Other sword, and if so, any human or only particular bloodlines? Can ice swords exist south of the Wall, or do they melt? Etc.
I would also enjoy a question about Mance Rayder's background, though he will likely be pretty tight-lipped here. It would be helpful to get an approximate age for him - maybe you could ask how old he was when he was picked up by the Night's Watch, and how long ago was this? And are there any other examples of wildling children being raised by the Watch? It seems like a bad idea that is very likely to lead to defections at the very least and possibly outright treason, if you ask wildlings to fight their own. Do we know when exactly he deserted? Was he on the Wall at all while BR was there? Or, my personal favorite: who taught Mance ("Mance" who wiped the floor with Jon, one of the Watch's best fighters) how to fight, and specifically with a greatsword?
Or just casually ask him where SAD was hiding between the time Ned let him go and the time he put on Mance's face following the shadowcat incident that killed the real Mance. He won't answer you but his reaction might give it away.
“In Qohor he is the Black Goat, in Yi Ti the Lion of Night, in Westeros the Stranger. All men must bow to him in the end, no matter if they worship the Seven or the Lord of Light, the Moon Mother or the Drowned God or the Great Shepherd. All mankind belongs to him... else somewhere in the world would be a folk who lived forever. Do you know of any folk who live forever?”
Jon is totally the Son of (Old) God(s). Tis an old tale. The Healing Zeus, Ea Zeus (aka "Jesus"). Known to other culures as Mithras, Osiris, Lucifer (Venus), will rise from his journey to the underworld (crypts) on the third day.

When you're right, you're right.
I could start with a serious one, lull him into a bored sense of superiority...
"So when Eddard Stark killed the Sword of the Morning, was 'Arthur Dayne' a euphemism for your desire to write?"

This cuts right to the heart of my pettest of pet theories.

Nice.

You have to set him up better than that. Here let me give you an example of what I mean:
Voice: “Mr. Martin, Do you think President Trump is hiding something because he refuses to release his taxes?
GRRM: Yes, of course. If he had nothing to hide he would simply release them, so that everyone would know the truth and then the topic would be dropped.
Voice: Now that we have established the fact that not doing something you don’t want to do proves beyond a reasonable doubt that you are hiding something would you be willing to submit to a polygraph test to once and for all prove that you are actually working on Winds of Winter and not just fucking around?
...and when the Nerd Riot begins you better get good video footage!!!
Scene from Nerd Riot: "Oh shit! I got a paper cut on my eyelid! I need superglue STAT!"
Or, my personal favorite: who taught Mance ("Mance" who wiped the floor with Jon, one of the Watch's best fighters) how to fight, and specifically with a greatsword?

Exactly. And it's the kind of thing he just might answer.
Or you could try to learn about the Others. For example, if they laugh, does that mean they are capable of feeling joy or pleasure? Can they also feel emotional pain? Is someone somewhere grieving for Ser Puddles? Do they have individual names? Anything to deconstruct the faceless enemy (no pun intended)!

silentmajority , you have no idea how tempting this is. I would much rather do something like this than ask a boring fanboy question that prompts the old turtle's standby "You'll have to keep reading" response.
