Hmmm... Do you like witches and vampires, etc? Deborah Harkniss's Discovery of Witches Trilogy wasn't too bad. Not quite on the level of ASOIAF, but an enjoyable read.
I also liked Blake Crouch's Wayward Pines Trilogy.
Some decent dystopian works out there too like Enders Game and the Maze Runner Series. I tend to read more of this kind of stuff.
Why must I always be the isle of crazy alone in an ocean of sensibility? The should to everybody else’s shouldn’t? The I-will to their better-nots?

I need to try and dig out an old Facebook post I made about that book about 4 years ago...
“Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.” ― George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones
Thank you for cutting it down. What about my suggestion ?
I am currently looking it up right now
Attaboy ! Pls be aware that that cycle is *heavy* - but completed. And has some of the best set pieces in fantasy history. Downside: You get thrown into the action and have to figure out what is going on.

Ok thank you!
Here to help.
Pls note the following:
- This is a 10-book cycle.
- The first book - Gardens of the Moon - was written around 91-92. Erikson took almost a decade to pimp the *concept*...when he did, he got a 10-book deal, under the condition that he release a book a year. Erikson wrote and released the next 9 tomes between 2001 to 2011 - each tome per year having about 900 edited hardback pages.
In other words: He released almost 9000 pages of an extremely well-controlled multi-character/multi-arc work in the time that Mr. Martin was unable to release 2000 pages of uninspired chaff called aFfC/aDwD.
I couldn't get through gardens of the moon. Maybe I should try and give it another go
