i am. I have not read the books in many many years, although i saw a reasonably good tv series a few years back. What an amazing world! the spice, the Guild etc. The second book and all its intrigue was my favourite.
Recently i got on to the Malazan series. Well worth reading too.
"Arya did not dare take a bath, even though she smelled as bad as Yoren by now, all sour and stinky. Some of the creatures living in her clothes had come all the way from Flea Bottom with her; it didn’t seem right to drown them."
Wraith, i have a pet theory that GRRM was arrysfleas, influenced by Dune and the breeding program by the Bene gesserit and there is something similar going on in the breeding pits of Lys . Dany and or Aegon could be a result of this program to recreate the Valyrian look and dragon hatching gene

Towards the end of Toll the Hounds. Enjoying much reading about the events in Darujhistan, but struggling a bit with those in Black Coral!
I really like the way the author sets up entertaining duos. Some of my favourites would have to be Tehol & Grub, Karsa and Samar, Iskaral and Mogara, Blend and Picker, Kruppe and Kruppe...
I admit to refering frequently to the Malazan wiki to work out what I have missed along the way.
In a way, there is no need to wait for Winds when you can immerse yourself - for months, years - in the Book of the Fallen (and its spin offs).

watch out, that water of life can have unexpected side effects!

OK, pretty far in. This is actually a cycle that gets better with a reread. But take it in stride and enjoy.
Black Coral...humm...gloomy arc, not really fun.
Once you finish the whole cycle...lemme say Erikson wraps it well enough, but it has issues. It made me very skeptical that Martin can wrap aSoIaF decently in another two volumes. But...RAFO.
In any case, Chain of Dogs and the sieges of Capusthan and Y´Gathan are just kick-ass writing.

Can´t really compare aSoIaF and MBotF. Two completely different beasts. And Malazan is pretty either/or. Either you´re into it or not.
About the finishing bit: IMHO Erikson needed at least an 11th volume to do a well-rounded job. Book deal was 10 volumes only and Erikson stuck to that. As I said, can discuss that once you wrapped. Martin has a problem called aFfC/aDwD where he expanded his world in a fashion that you cannot wrap it organically in another two volumes.
RAFO = lulz...Malazanhead lingo = Read and find out. Erikson does not need an Elio Garcia to keep track of his shit.
