Not sure where to post this, mods please feel free to move.
Now that the NK is dead, there is bound to be discussions on AA and PTwP. This is just a reference point for theories/discussions. There is not much in the shows about these two. Here is every word in the show and associated material.
The Prince that was Promised
Mel to Blackwater Bay people
"In the ancient books it's written that a warrior will draw a burning sword from the fire. And that sword shall be Lightbringer. Stannis Baratheon. Warrior of Light. Your sword awaits you."
Season 2, Episode 1, 25:08
Mel to Renly
"You should kneel before your brother. He's the Lord's chosen. Born amidst salt and smoke."
Season 2, Episode 4, 28:43
Mel to Stannis
"This war has just begun. It will last for years. Thousands will die at your command. You will betray the men serving you. You will betray your family. You will betray everything you once held dear. And it will all be worth it, becuse you are the son of fire, you are the warrior of the light. You will sweep aside this pretender and that one. You will be king."
Season 2, Episode 10, 19:28
Red Priestess in Volantis
"He has sent you a savior. From the fire she was reborn to remake the world! The Dragon Queen!"
Season 5, Episode 3 51:45
Mel mentions Ptwp to Jon after he comes back to life
"The lord let you come back for a reason. Stannis was not the prince who was promised, but someone has to be."
Season 3 Episode 6, 4:00
Kinvara to Tyrion and Varys
"Daenerys Stormborn is the one who was promised. From the fire she was reborn to remake the world. She has freed the slaves from their chains and crucified the masters for their sins. Her dragons are fire made flesh. A gift from the Lord of Light. ... Daenerys has been sent to lead the people against the darkness in this war and in the great war still to come."
Season 6, Episode 5, 30:51
Mel tells Dany the Prophecy
Mel: The Long Night is coming. Only the prince who was promised can bring the dawn.
Dany: "The prince who was promised will bring the dawn." I'm afraid I'm not a prince.
Missandei: Your Grace, forgive me but your translation is not quite accurate. That noun has no gender in High Valyrian. So, the proper translation for that prophecy would be "The prince or princess who was promised will bring the dawn".
Tyrion: Doesn't roll off the tongue does it.
Dany: No, but I like it better. And you believe this prophecy refers to me?
Mel: Prophecies are dangerous things. I believe you have a role to play, as does another, the King in the North, Jon Snow.
Season 7 Episode 2, 8:05
AA is not even mentioned in the actual show.
All we have is:
"Our champion will be reborn to wake dragons from stone and reforge the great sword Lightbringer that defeated the darkness those thousands of years ago. If the old tales are true, a terrible weapon forged with a loving wife's heart. Part of me thinks man was well rid of it, but great power requires great sacrifice. That much at least the Lord of Light is clear on"
this is explained in this lore video by Thoros of Myr
the bit about AA starts at 2:25
The dagger that killed the NK
According to D&D,
"We knew it had to be valyrian steel, to the exact spot where the child of the forest put the dragonglass blade to create the Knight King. And that weapon has been one of the totemic pieces for us, and ultimately we've known for a long, long time, that was gonna end the Night King".
Then the dagger is explained,
"When Samwell is reading a book about the Dragonglass, there is a picture of the dagger. It is very possible that the same thing that created the Night King is the thing that was necessary to destroy the Night King, or maybe its Valyrian steel. Figure it out for yourself, not gonna say. (Smiles)"
Isaac Hempstead Wright says,
"I think that's such a nice full circle kind of thing as well that that's the knife that was destined to kill Bran, and here it is saving him."
All of this is at 34:40 in this video:
In the episode in question, Sam says,
"The Targaryens used dragonglass to decorate their weapons, without even knowing what the First Men used it for."
Season 7 Episode 1, start at 47:40
It is the same dagger as the one show in the book, or one of identical design.
There seems to be a contradiction here, as Rodrik Cassel identifies the material that makes up the handle as dragonbone, and not dragon glass.
"Did you notice the dagger the killer used? It's too fine a weapon for such a man. The blade is Valyrian steel, the handle dragonbone."
Season 1, Episode 2, 34:42
Littlefinger claims the dagger is unique, and that he lost it to Tyrion Lannister at the tournament on Joffrey's nameday
"There's only one dagger like this in all of the Seven Kingdoms"
Season 1, Episode 3, 20:23
Finally, the first time Mel meets Arya, she says,
"I see a darkness in you. And in that darkness, eyes staring back at me. Brown Eyes. Blue Eyes, Green Eyes. Eyes you will shut forever. We will meet again."
(notice the inversion, in Season 8, Episode 3, she says Blue Eyes last)
Season 3, Episode 6, 51:11
If I missed out anything, especially in the extra videos, please do let me know
