Maester Samshould I start to read it?voice just introduced me to the Feast For Readers board. He says it's popular...
Yes, you should!! Not all the 1000 worlds stories are created equal, but here are some that I really enjoyed: In the House of the Worm (this one is worth reading more than once- I just did my 3rd reread and I'm still picking up new things ) Seven Times Never Kill Man (watch out for the ending, it's amazing!) Dying of the Light (this one is a short novel, so you'll need several hours to read it, as opposed to under 2 hours for most of the others- but it's worth it) Within the pieced-together novel of Tuf Voyaging, I prefer The Plague Star and Guardians (also a neat twist at the end).
Those are my favorites, but also popular are A Song for Lya (strong COTF parallels in this one!), Bitterblooms (featuring blue winter flowers) and The Lonely Songs of Laren Dorr.
You don't have to read them in any particular order, except within Tuf Voyaging which is a collection of related stories that go together, with The PLague Star being the first. It was helpful for me to first watch prestonjacobs's Intro to the 1000 Worlds video, which gave an overview of the world and a bit of history.
Enjoy!
“In Qohor he is the Black Goat, in Yi Ti the Lion of Night, in Westeros the Stranger. All men must bow to him in the end, no matter if they worship the Seven or the Lord of Light, the Moon Mother or the Drowned God or the Great Shepherd. All mankind belongs to him... else somewhere in the world would be a folk who lived forever. Do you know of any folk who live forever?”
