Your lordship lost a son at the Red Wedding. I lost four upon the Blackwater. And why? Because the Lannisters stole the throne. Go to King’s Landing and look on Tommen with your own eyes, if you doubt me. A blind man could see it. What does Stannis offer you? Vengeance. Vengeance for my sons and yours, for your husbands and your fathers and your brothers. Vengeance for your murdered lord, your murdered king, your butchered princes. Vengeance!
Gotta say, I have to lol at all the "Targaryens are great, especially Rhaegar" we keep getting from the show. I mean Barristan basically completely glosses over Rhaegar taking Lyanna and just kinda mentions it as an offhand comment, like it was no big deal.

Which in turn makes me wonder, did Rhaegar really take Lyanna? He talks about Harrenhall which then segues into we all know what happened then. Well, really, no, we don't. Seems like something might be hidden there, right in plain sight. It is interesting that we get this video right before season 6.
Why must I always be the isle of crazy alone in an ocean of sensibility? The should to everybody else’s shouldn’t? The I-will to their better-nots?

I really hope so, because there's no reason that anybody should actually still be maintaining glowering recommendations for the man otherwise. And that's even if he didn't rape Lyanna, he still went and took another man's bride while he was already married.

It's part of the extra features that are on the Season 5 DVD, but yes very interesting timing. Especially cause I feel like they've done multiple Robert's Rebellion ones before, but this one seemed a bit more in dept, even if rose tinted, and it's also a quick refresher too eh? Like a "remember this"

And she was what, fifteen? Not unheard of in medieval times, but she died at sixteen while hidden away from her family. Not exactly an honorable thing for a married father of two to do.
"I can see it. You have more of the north in you than your brothers."
Also anyone else notice the Dayne sigil next to the Stark at the Tournament of Harrenhal?
Yeah that really made no sense. Sure Ashara and Arthur were there, but Ashara was Elia's maid, and Arthur was Aerys' KG. And no mention of Lord Dayne or Gerold Dayne or his father being there. Not to mention that the Daynes aren't that "great" of lords. So they really shouldn't be getting such public recognition.
I'm pretty sure it's nothing more than than fanboyism than actual "canon".

The thing is, though, we don't really know much about the Dayne family tree. Yes, Ashara was a Lady in Waiting for Elia, but do we know for sure that she wasn't also the Lady of Starfall? Remember, Dorne practices equal primogenitor. Ashara might well have been the eldest sibling with dead parents. Point being that we don't know.

Edric Dayne mentions that his father was older than Arthur. And I forget where, but it's mentioned somewhere that Arthur is older than Ashara.
Ashara might well have been the eldest sibling with dead parents. Point being that we don't know.
Ashara can't have been.
"My father was Ser Arthur's elder brother. Lady Ashara was my aunt. I never knew her, though. She threw herself into the sea from atop the Palestone Sword before I was born."
Edric says his dad's older than Arthur.
Now we also know from an SSM that Ashara Dayne would be in her thirties if she were alive today.
6) How old is Howland Reed? He'd be in his thirties.
7) And how would have been Ashara Dayne? Ditto.
Meaning somewhere between 30-39. 19 years ago (281 when Harrenhal was) puts her at some age between 11-20.
We know that Arthur's in the KG by at least by 276 given that he wins the Lannisport tourney then as a KG
Later that same year, Lord Tywin Lannister, perhaps unwisely, held a great tournament at Lannisport in honor of Viserys's birth. Mayhaps it was meant to be a gesture toward reconciliation. There the wealth and power of House Lannister was displayed for all the realm to see. King Aerys at first refused to attend, then relented, but the queen and her new son were kept under confinement back at King's Landing. There, seated on his throne amongst hundreds of notables in the shadow of Casterly Rock, the king cheered lustily as his son Prince Rhaegar, newly knighted, unhorsed both Tygett and Gerion Lannister, and even overcame the gallant Ser Barristan Selmy, before falling in the champion's tilt to the renowned Kingsguard knight Ser Arthur Dayne, the Sword of the Morning.
And we know that at 15 Jaime is the youngest KG ever.
Jaime reached for the flagon to refill his cup. "So many vows . . . they make you swear and swear. Defend the king. Obey the king. Keep his secrets. Do his bidding. Your life for his. But obey your father. Love your sister. Protect the innocent. Defend the weak. Respect the gods. Obey the laws. It's too much. No matter what you do, you're forsaking one vow or the other." He took a healthy swallow of wine and closed his eyes for an instant, leaning his head back against the patch of nitre on the wall. "I was the youngest man ever to wear the white cloak."
Jaime says Rolland Darklyn was the next youngest KG
"Yet both men rose to command the Kingsguard. Their tales are in the book. Rolland Darklyn is in here too. The youngest man ever to serve in the Kingsguard, until me. He was given his cloak on a battlefield and died within an hour of donning it."
I see on the wiki and in many threads that people say that Rolland was 17, but there's zero evidence of this as far as I can tell as it's never mentioned anywhere. All we know is that he was older than Jaime. However, the next young remarked upon dates for KG we get are for Loras and Aemon, who actually indeed definitely are 17.
With the Red Keep so crowded, Tyrion could not hope to go unnoticed. Ser Balon Swann stood guard on the door, and Ser Loras Tyrell on the drawbridge. He stopped to exchange pleasantries with both of them. It was strange to see the Knight of Flowers all in white when before he had always been as colorful as a rainbow. "How old are you, Ser Loras?" Tyrion asked him. "Seventeen, my lord." Seventeen, and beautiful, and already a legend. Half the girls in the Seven Kingdoms want to bed him, and all the boys want to be him. "If you will pardon my asking, ser—why would anyone choose to join the Kingsguard at seventeen?" "Prince Aemon the Dragonknight took his vows at seventeen," Ser Loras said, "and your brother Jaime was younger still."
So if the youngest KG go Jaime (15), Rolland (unknown), Loras/Aemon (17), then Arthur has to have been at least 17 when he joined the KG. So we get
Arthur had to be at least 22 years old at Harrenhal. Which is 2 years older than Ashara could possibly be given that she'd have been max 20.
And with Edric's father being older than Arthur, and Arthur being older than Ashara, then Ashara's the youngest of the three and couldn't possibly have been Lady Dayne between them.

Probably especially considering the source.
Darkstar will be the next Vulture King.
Craster has 19 daughters and there are 19 castles on the Wall, coincidence I think not!
