Craster has 19 daughters and there are 19 castles on the Wall, coincidence I think not!
I really need to go back one of these days and try LotR again. I tried reading it in high school and couldn't get into it, but I'm pretty sure that some of my tastes have changed since then.

Oh, this is hard! I'm just going to put the series I've kept the longest.
1. LOTR 2. Darkover series by Marian Zimmer Bradley 3. Dick Francis' mysteries 4. Tony Hillerman's mysteries 5. The Witch World series but Andre Norton

Not top 5, but looked over my shelves and came away with this list of my favourite series. Keep in mind too that I'm young so a few of these are books I read growing up lol (though I still love the stories themselves). In no particular order
Pendragon - DJ MacHale The Seven Realms - Cinda Williams Chima Darth Bane Trilogy - Drew Karpyshyn Legend of Drizzt - R.A Salvatore War of the Spider Queen - R.A Salvatore Saga of Darren Shan - Darren Shan Demonata - Darren Shan Night Angel Trilogy - Brent Weeks Inheritance Cycle - Christopher Paolini Seventh Tower - Garth Nix Deltora Series - Emily Rodda The Death and Life of Superman Dragonlance Chronicles - Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman Dragonlance Legends - Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman The Gentleman Bastards - Scott Lynch
Your lordship lost a son at the Red Wedding. I lost four upon the Blackwater. And why? Because the Lannisters stole the throne. Go to King’s Landing and look on Tommen with your own eyes, if you doubt me. A blind man could see it. What does Stannis offer you? Vengeance. Vengeance for my sons and yours, for your husbands and your fathers and your brothers. Vengeance for your murdered lord, your murdered king, your butchered princes. Vengeance!

I love the Night Angel Trilogy.

It's probably my favourite series. Love the realism, the darkness, the humour, the action, etc. Hate that they were only a trilogy though lol.
Then again, the ending's rather dubious that the series is "done" so there should be a sequel. I get that Weeks is currently working on his Lightbringer series (which I've enjoyed too), but hopefully when Lightbringer's done this November he'll go back to the Night Angel series.

Wow, that sounds worthwhile. I've been looking for new stuff to read, and was hoping to find a good fantasy series. Might have to grab this one. The last time I branched out into some new fantasy I was severely disappointed (First Law Trilogy).

markg171, wasn't there supposed to be a prequel novel with Durzo? I remember hearing about it awhile ago but I guess nothing ever came of it.
voice, I wholeheartedly recommend it. What was so bad about the First Law Trilogy?

No it got made as an e-book novella. You can read it for free online if you search enough, or you could just buy it from links on Brent Weeks website for like $3.

Highly recommend it. Like I said, it's dark, the series is realistic (the characters actually have to suffer), there's great humour, and great action.
