Thank you, reading Quran when you are not affected by other sources like hadith and Bible is really enjoyable and you do notice the differences between Abrahamic texts better.
But I also came across comparisons to the Bible story and the Gilgamesh story, and one of the commenters noted that the Bible version is taken as history in many cases, while the Gilgamesh version of the flood is taken as pure mythology. Which is quite interesting, since many sources think Gilgamesh was probably a real man, and a great king. The stuff I came across also talked about the size of the flood. Did it really cover every source of land on the earth, or was it a more localized flood?
I am going to keep looking in flood mythos, not just in the Bible and Quran, but world wide, and continue my search for Uzeyir-do you have a suggestion for an alternative spelling or source for me to read?
When you search for Üzeyir, Ezra comes up because Sünni and Shia scholars identifies Quranic Üzeyir with Biblical Ezra which is wrong because Ezra was never seen as son of God especially by Yahudi(misguided ones), these scholars also identifies Yahudi with Jews which is wrong again because believers of Torah would be referred as Hudi, Ya gives the word the opposite meaning like Greek a prefix.
Well Quranic Noah and Adam lived close to each other and according to Quran there are flood myths because they were passed through generations verbally and the people who know this event are descendants of the survivors, so flood could be local and only affecting people of Noah like Quran says but it would also be a global one because humans didn't live in every continent at that time. Flood has to be before Semitic migration to Mesopotemia at the very least, Semitic people migrated North from Yemen and must carry the story with them and Sumerian would be the first account since they have the first written language. Deities that were worshipped by people of Noah and mentioned in Quran are part of Yemen's pantheon, Yemen especially Tihamah is a volcanic era and Tiamat is the vengeful goddess that causes the flood aka the volcano.
When it comes to wife and son of Noah, according to Quran the son of Noah who died, was not on Arc because he wasn't a believer and fathered by another man, Noah's wife as Quran says cheated on him with another man and for her betrayal she was going to hell.
