We're supposed to take LF serious at this point in the series that he actually has good intentions for helping Ned on Cat's behalf--but the points where we know he had some influence really seem to come off played by Aiden as though he's genuinely helping the Starks or is shocked on their behalf when something goes wrong for them.
Many have speculated with Ser Hugh of the Vale that LF sets Ned up to go about things the wrong way. However while Ser Hugh is jousting Aiden reacts as though he didn't expect Ser Hugh to get murdered facing the Mountain. Slip up on Aiden's part, or perhaps the show is trying to convince us that LF might be helping Ned a little too well.
There's not a lot to comment on in this episode as a lot of this episode is spent on fleshing out secondary characters for the audience.
