Starting out all in black with the heavy breathing was a great way to communicate what living in the Black Cells would be like for the majority of the time Ned was down there.

Whoa Varys is getting quite emotional all of a sudden. But then again it's a hard thing to have been planning something and be desperate to realize that it might all come crashing down if things continue as they are.

In the show they try and pin the blame more firmly on Mirri Maz Dur, while the book makes it a bit more complicated and ambiguous and making Drogo as much responsible for his sickness as Mirri's actions later on. I miss that complexity, though this way of telling it is of course streamlined.

I'm trying to guess who all is in the tent with Tyrion, Kevan, and Tywin but I never really get a good look at their sigils--and the way they keep silent strikes me as they're there more as human props than anything else.

Anyone else notice how quickly Mirri Maz Dur offered a spell and as she did the actress looked not at Dany's face, but her swelling belly (before then looking up at Dany's face)? Nice touch!

Problem with the whole: "women don't want to have sex after nearly being raped" line that's added--it's a great line, don't get me wrong... but the show later contradicts this quite notably in later seasons. But it was a good effort... even if it didn't last that long.
