All art is at once surface and symbol. Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril. Those who read the symbol do so at their peril. It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors. Oscar Wilde.
One more thing: Dany says "I am the dragon's daughter."
Somewhere in this season or season 2, I could swear Jorah says that Rhaegar was the last dragon.
And Dany has that line in "Golden Crown" about Viserys's not being a dragon.
If all of that holds--Dany as Rhaegar's???

Lol I was thinking the same thing when she said that.
I need to find magical extra time and go look, but I could swear Jorah tells Dany in this season, when she says something about Viserys' never being able to take her "home"--Jorah says Viserys is no dragon and that Rhaegar was the last dragon.
If that's right (always a sketchy premise), then the show used the phrase in a specific context.
Plus, I mean, just look at how beautiful she looks! Rhaegar+Ashara all the way.
Granted, we haven't had Barristan say or think anything.
And we haven't had any description of Rhaella. But, yes. . . She's gorgeous. If rather braid-y.
Plus, in the last season, there's that moment with Barristan where he tells her about Aerys' un-neighborly BBQ's and she says "I am not my father."
But later in the same season, she practically glows when he tells her about Rhaegar. . .in the same room. Seems like we're possibly being told who she's "like."
Or I'm giving the show runners WAY too much credit. . .

I'm not so sure that those are meant to be thetas. I'm thinking that they're just meant to signify ritual sacrifice and magic. I do like how the season opens and closes with these symbols.
Why must I always be the isle of crazy alone in an ocean of sensibility? The should to everybody else’s shouldn’t? The I-will to their better-nots?
