While it's been only briefly touched upon, no one ever seems to discuss why or how Melisandra survives the poisoning here--might it be because she's already dead--a fire version of Coldhands of sorts.
There is a simple explaination at least in the books. Cressen takes out the poison andi leaves it on his desk. Pylos probably came in same the poison and reported to Mel and Stannis. Also the reason that Pylos didn't wake up Cressen like he was supposed to. To Pylos provided an andidote which made it took like magic that Mel knew and was immune.
Darkstar will be the next Vulture King.
Craster has 19 daughters and there are 19 castles on the Wall, coincidence I think not!

Possible.
But I'm also wondering if her not being poisoned has to do with discussions we've had re: her being a fire wight. Like Beric.
If that were so, poison might not make much difference. . . she might need stabbing.
Oy! Even Freud is rolling his eyes at that unintended pun. Sorry.
All art is at once surface and symbol. Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril. Those who read the symbol do so at their peril. It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors. Oscar Wilde.

Although I do agree that it is possible, if not likely that Mel might very well be a fire wight (for lack of a better term) I'm not sure that is the entire reason that she survives the poison. Through Beric we have seen that it is indeed possible for fire wights to die again. The key here appears to be the fire itself. As Mel says, fire cleanses. I think that poison just happens to be one of the things that fire does indeed cleanse. Unless, of course, the show is settling it up to be her ruby necklace. It does glow brightly here. Dany also wears an amethyst choker from Xaro that is supposed to protect her from poison.
Why must I always be the isle of crazy alone in an ocean of sensibility? The should to everybody else’s shouldn’t? The I-will to their better-nots?
