What is everyone's thoughts on Qarth itself? I personally love Qarth's look in the show when the gates open, and I don't mind how they made some changes while adding a bit of stakes to the plot in order to make it a bit more interesting because otherwise Dany is simply taking a vacation in Qarth. Let's debate about the value of Qarth to the story and this season specifically.

Dany really doesn't understand the concept of humility. I love her insulting the only people that could help her.
Darkstar will be the next Vulture King.
Craster has 19 daughters and there are 19 castles on the Wall, coincidence I think not!

She's a "true Targaryan."
Why must I always be the isle of crazy alone in an ocean of sensibility? The should to everybody else’s shouldn’t? The I-will to their better-nots?

Qarth epitomizes orientalization. D&D did a good job, but they screwed up the single most important fashion statement in the entire series - The Qartheen gown.
Now, the intrinsic nature of bewbs in memory and cognitive recall have already been demonstrated by Mojo and Lady Dyanna. This isn't about that...
Dany uses nudity, particularly the Qartheen gown as an empowering and intimidating device later when holding court. She learns this method in Qarth, and even judges Xaro's sexual orientation based upon it.
Such a missed opportunity... smh

Qarth looked good, and for the majority of the time there, it wasn't too bad. It had some flaws though, that really irritated me. Firstly, Dany was super ridiculous once she started demanding everyone basically just give her what she wants. The theft of the dragons was also ridiculous: why take them and give her a way to get them back? If they have them, why not just kill Dany? The point in the novels seemed to be that they couldn't just steal them, that Mother and Dragons are a package deal of sorts.
And then there's the whole 'King of Qarth' nonsense. They clearly wanted so great drama to take place in Qarth and weren't happy with how it played out. Having Dany then be able to imprison Xaro after that is also stupid, because with what army? She's got like ten people on her side.
And don't even get me started on the HotU scenes. What a wasted opportunity for world building and getting into Dany's history.

Ok, maybe I didn't like it that much after all...
Well shit. You're right. Add these to my Qartheen gown argument above, and yeah, they really screwed up the whole point in Dany's visit to Qarth.
