As the tin says above, what would you rate the episode? Personally I liked the episode overall much better than last week's and feel it was the second half of the season opener.
7 out of 10 for me, a solid C for average Game of Thrones. Great scenes intermixed with a few questionable choices, extrenuous bloodbaths, and sorely missed dialogue from the books. Not astounding, but not too shabby either.
NINE. And really, it's more like a 9.8. But I can't in good conscience give it a perfect 10. There have been perfect episodes, but this didn't feel like one. I take marks off for Arya's wargless blindness and Tyrion/Varys doing the Terence and Phillip thing.
Other than that, it deserves high praise.
Why?
Well GRRM has left us hanging for half a decade wondering wtf is happening with Jon Snow. For better or worse, D&D gave us an answer. I'd rather have seen Jon awaken after talking to his mum in the WF crypts, but at this point, I'll take what I can get.
And holy fuck. Lyanna AND Benjen made appearances on the screen! That alone deserves a 10. But no. If Arya ends up warging a cat, and Tyrion ends up eaten by Rhaegal, I'll raise the score.
"I can see it. You have more of the north in you than your brothers."
i'll second voice's 9. thoroughly enjoyable episode, and i wasn't outraged or brought out of my groove the whole episode. If they can keep to this level for the rest of the season, it will be their best season to date.
An 8 from me. Looooved Tyrion and the dragons. Not feeling Iron Islands. Ramsey's getting boring, cartoon villiany. Tormund saves the day and WunWun get to squish a knight! Oh yeah, and the drama was good too
I went with an 8:10 too. Thought that it was a fairly strong episode overall, even if Tyrion's dialogue at parts was not particularly inspired. If Mereen and the iron islands had been a bit better, it would have been higher, but they weren't. I even enjoyed the show after spoiling myself again.
Why must I always be the isle of crazy alone in an ocean of sensibility? The should to everybody else’s shouldn’t? The I-will to their better-nots?
