I watched the movie this weekend and then found out is was based on books so I read the books. Has any one else here? I know they're teeny-bopper books but I have a few questions that I'd like to discuss. Thanks!
The blade was Valyrian steel, spell-forged and dark as smoke. Nothing held an edge like Valyrian steel.
DarkSister1001, Were the books any good? Is it a post-apocalyptic series? I've actually really enjoyed some of the other teeny-bopper books I've read, so I was wondering if you'd recommend them?
Why must I always be the isle of crazy alone in an ocean of sensibility? The should to everybody else’s shouldn’t? The I-will to their better-nots?

The second and third were better than the 1st. I really enjoyed the Sci fi part of it, I like post apocalyptic stuff. Go for it. My issue, mostly, was the POV of a 16 year old girl, I have one at home so I did a fair amount of eye rolling. Lol

Just bought the first one on my Kindle. I'll let you know how it goes. I had a credit that I needed to use up anyway. (Like I need my arm twisted to buy a new book!) I can usually take the whiny POVs. It can't get any worse than Bella from Twilight and I made it through that one. lol. I do have one advantage over you, though. My daughter is only eight. I at least have a little bit left before it gets too bad.

DarkSister1001, Took me until today to realize that was where your quote was from. Love it!
I have a hard time not comparing most of what I read to GRRM. I'm always amazed on reread how much foreshadowing really is there. And yet, I still missed over half of it...

I am not sure why I keep coming back to this thread, since I have not read the books, nor can I in the near future. I feel like a stalker
But I have to say that I, too, really like DarkSister1001 's signiture Is it uttered in an epic scene? (In my mind it is!)
Lol, books stalkers are the only cool kind! Thanks, it is. They're good books about keeping your humanity when there's none to be found and clinging dearly to inner strength you didn't know you had.

I think I could have handled it better if it ended when the ship blew up. I probably wasn't as emotionally invested in Cassie as I should have been, but to see that it really didn't much help ANYTHING??? It was pretty cruel to have Evan end up living too. All in all, pretty depressing.

Yeah, given the genre I expected a little more flowers and lolly pops.

Have you ever read the Divergent Trilogy? The movies haven't done it justice.
