Watchers on the Wall analyzing the data from poll about ASOIAF theories. This one did not surprise me too much, just made me realize how much of the fandom is pro RLJ in terms of Jon's parentage.
Jon Snow’s Parentage
"Here, we start with some pretty consistent congruence on the part of these 5 fan communities. Over 90% of all respondents believe that Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark are Jon Snow’s parents." - Sue , Watchers on the Wall.
Contrary to popular belief, Heresy is not about R+L=/=J. Vocal critics of RLJ may give it that vibe from time to time, but the thread has always been very open and supportive of RLJ. At least, it was when I was there. Heresy instead attempts to place focus on events further north, and remind folks it doesn't matter who sits the Iron Throne when the Others come a-calling... whereas the RLJers tend to focus on the hidden-heir trope, Jon's legitimacy, and the idea of Jon one day marrying Dany and/or becoming King of Westeros.
But yeah. I feel the same way when I step into the mass-forums. Easy to forget how defensive and rude people can be when you are used to the clinks of pints in Heresy (not that Heresy is always peaceful). LOL
"I can see it. You have more of the north in you than your brothers."
I second Voice's statements but will add it was and still is accepting that eveyone has dfference of opnions on this. But a lot of new comers are very pro RLJ so you find that it still permeates the thread.
For the most part and i agree it doesn't matter who Jon's parents are the only impact it will have is the one Jon chooses for to have and like i said many times Jon will stand in no other name but his......Snow.

I blame the "gray sheep" ::: as Marwyn calls them, for the whole R+L= J crazy. Granted its probably true but people need to think outside the box more, not dismiss something else because it doesn't fit their notions. Plenty of people still think Jon and Dany are going to marry and rule the seven kingdoms together. What a Disney ending.
Anyway I am still hoping for Brandon and Ashara to be Jon's parents.
Darkstar will be the next Vulture King.
Craster has 19 daughters and there are 19 castles on the Wall, coincidence I think not!

Going to go with WM7 who is seconding Voice's statment. Heresy in its conception and current life span has always been about the Starks & Winterfell and everything North. At least that is my opinion; right wrong or indifferent.
The X+Y=J....once again in my opinion, has always been a totally separate issue.
Afterall, it is a Song of Ice and Fire...is it not?

Ah my apologies I wasn't as clear as I should have been. I meant I am a "heretic" in terms of favoring an alternative to RLJ. I didn't mean it in relation to the Heresy Thread On Westeros.

Ohhh that makes sense i see what you're saying. Yeah we are the few who are the odd men out.Which can be a dangerous idea to hold on a ceratin site that should not be named. But i think in the long run it will be prooven it was the right way to go.I for one am proud of you guys for sticking to your guns instead of folding....Those who don't stand for something will fall for anything".
I should retract my first statement about us being few i should say we aren't so vocal and if we do become so madness ensues.

Speaking of Heresy of Westeros.org, Ran and Linda's Facebook page is now highlighting various threads. I've seen 1-2 new thread being promoted on their FB page. I wonder if they are slow and are trying to bring in traffic?
This site is slow too. Where is everybody?
Can't speak for everyone, but I'm loaded down with classes this week. Winter has come, and it came all over my desk. LOL
