If Robert finds out, he'll kill him. You know he will.
You have to protect him! [sob]
Promise me, Ned. [whispering]
Alright, so the one thing that I am thoroughly surprised that no one has mentioned up until this point, at least that I can see... How do we know that when Lyanna says "him" she is referring to the baby? We have no idea what she said before that. The him she is referring to could be anyone.
Why must I always be the isle of crazy alone in an ocean of sensibility? The should to everybody else’s shouldn’t? The I-will to their better-nots?
Dudes, I'm like so hearing "Jaehaerys" now...-sigh-wtf? -dunno- This is some maddening bullsh*t...-chuckling- I mean, can we even be ABSOLUTELY positive the infant's Jon? Ya'd think so, right? -smh-
I'm hearing/seeing Jaehaerys now too.
The blade was Valyrian steel, spell-forged and dark as smoke. Nothing held an edge like Valyrian steel.
Nothing more distinctive than a newborn's features!
All art is at once surface and symbol. Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril. Those who read the symbol do so at their peril. It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors. Oscar Wilde.
But an interview with the director has him saying flat out that he can't talk about Jon's paternity. And an interview with the Bran-actor has him saying flat out that he doesn't know and that Bran doesn't know. And an interview with the young Ned actor has him saying nothing on the subject.
So, either:
A. HBO actively told the director and actors to NOT discuss the issue and then said, "screw it!" a day or two later and revealed the whole thing with a blog graphic.
OR:
B: The blog has some autonomy. They put up what they think is right and completely reasonable in a graphic. But the show itself--the showrunners, the actors, the directors--are still keeping it a secret.
I think option B makes more sense. Why on earth would you do the reveal that way after telling your actors and director to keep mum in interviews?
But the show has done some truly screwy things, so, who knows?
ETA: wolfmaid7 : I think the blog is just saying what it thinks is right. That it has some autonomy. But the actors and director are actively keeping silent on the subject.

I can't recall if it was this blog or another one but one of them said the info graphic was a mistake to reveal since they were trying to keep it secret until next season.

Whoa! Really??
I'm now wondering if it was no mistake at all. If, like the "Jon's dead!" mess, they are just trolling us all. (grumble grumble).
Martin needs to finish that book!!!!!!!

I really think that they set this up to be the thing that keeps everyone engaged in the off season. Just like everyone was on "hair watch" for Kit this past year, everyone will be scrutinizing casting calls this season, looking for the HH tournament, etc. They've been trolling fans with RLJ for years now. This is their last chance for a final hurrah.

Oh, yes--they've been trolling for a while. That shirt-thing you told me about a while ago proved that beyond all doubt.
It's an odd thing: with Jon's death, they knew many if not most book fans thought he'd come back. Seems like they did all the "no, he's dead" and Kit did the "I'm not coming back" interviews for the express purpose of trolling book fans.
But now--many if not most book fans think Rhaegar is Jon's dad. But they don't confirm it on the show. And then have the director and actors actively say they can't talk about it. And then put up the graphic. So, not trying as hard to hide the idea from book readers.
If I were in a Machiavellian mind, I'd say they were doing the opposite of last season: Last season: tell them the opposite of what they think and then give them what they already thought. Try to make it a surprise.
This season, let them think what they want--don't' push back too hard. And then. . . deny it season 7. Make it a surprise.
Lol, sorry not a joke. I would say that in this case HBO = D&D. HBO released the graphic so they must have received confirmation from D&D
True--I do think they might have given the nod. But, given that they ALSO told their director and actors to NOT confirm--no way they are playing straight with us.
ETA: I would question it too if it wasn't their official HBO blog.
But they also told us Jon was dead. And that Kit wasn't coming back. That was COMPLETELY official.
Lying bastards!
In all honesty--I can't see why they'd BOTH release the graphic and muzzle their actors. Seems like they aren't confirming anything.

HBO dont know that!!! There not in the know.If D&D isnt confirming anything, the author isnt confirming anything. How is HBO a network going to do that?
Or you were joking with this right?

What i was getting at is specifically HBO actually in the know on what "GRRM" intended for book canon.Show canon is another.D&D could tell HBO what "they" want.
