I know people stated that the leaks are quite accurate, but with the E5 and 7 leaks about the RLJ reveal, it rather seemz to me that HBD directed the leaks themselves. They made the first accurate to troll with those.
I don't remember this. SlyWren, does this ring a bell?
Who said it? What was the context?
Okay—so here’s how things seem to stand:
1. There are the original August leaks from “awayforthelads.” “Lads’” Reddit account was deleted. The leaks started out as a general outline As “lads” was asked more questions, he/she gave more info—often playing coy. Some answers are even in the form of questions. Could be legit. Could be what “lads” thinks is right based on the more vague outline. Not sure. The general outline and some of the details have held so far.
2. There are later Reddit leaks from “awayforthelads2.” Often more detailed than original “lads.”
3. There are Frikidoctor’s recent leaks via youtube and Reddit. He claims to have complied them from the first “lads” and just elaborates more. Friki’s “leaks” have been generally right, but they have had some clear breaks in accuracy about both general content and specific details. Plus: there’s a bit of a kerfuffle on Reddit right now re: what Friki has said about Cersei’s pregnancy. He’s clearly backtracking and equivocating. No idea who’s right or wrong re: Cersei’s potentially getting pregnant. But one thing’s very clear: Friki is NOT certain of some of his assertions. He’s making educated guesses. Thus that horrible
might not go down as he described (pleas, please, please--whatever the reveal info is, don't let Friki be right about the mythology!)
4. There was GOTit1111 on Reddit. He/she clearly had a source allowing early viewing of episodes. GOTit1111 has not posted in about 2 weeks. Seems to be gone.
5. And now there are leaked scripts purported to be from the recent hack of HBO. I’ve seen 2 different scripts supposedly from the same leak for episode 5. The one sohialo posted is here--see the quote above. Then there’s this one: ETA: OOOPS! It's been taken down.
Both have the same script markings—supposedly showing that they are “real.” (I swear--they have the same markings--even though that image was taken down) BUT: they have fairly large variants in content—including about Sam and Gilly’s reading. The basic outlines first shown in the “lads” leaks are consistent over the two scripts. But the specific content of conversations and other key details—not so much.
BUT: HBO is also having Harington say in interviews that the parentage isn’t confirmed. As of 11 July 2017. Even as he says “it looks clear that this fan theory is going to come true, but we don’t know that yet.” From the same guy that told us he was never coming back to the show. Huh.
It’s important to say at the moment that it looks clear that this fan theory is going to come true, but we don’t know that yet. We know Lyanna Stark is his mother, but we don’t know who his father is for sure yet. But when I read all of that, I was very excited by it. There’s obviously been this mystery for him for many seasons and many years. I love that he doesn’t know about it. We all know about it, but he’s completely in the dark about it. As far as he knows, he’s still the illegitimate child of Ned Stark and some southern woman somewhere. That’s all he thinks.
7. Finally, there’s speculation on Reddit and beyond that Wilf Scolding has been cast as Rhaegar. Some of the reasoning seems interesting at best, but not iron clad. Some are saying he’s on the hacked internal cast lists. But we have multiple versions of leaked scripts purportedly from that same hack. If he is Rhaegar, he looks like he could passably be Dany’s daddy. https://www.reddit.com/r/freefolk/comments/6ssm87/its_confirmed_wilf_scolding_is_officially_on_the/
Thus, it’s now obvious: 1. Jon was switched at birth with Ramsay in the Westerosi General Hospital. 2. Since Sansa fed Ramsay to his own dogs, there is no hope. 3. The Walkers will eliminate all human life from Westeros. 4. THUS: This all symbolizes Martin’s intent to kill us all—flee now or die in a sea of warm milk.
Thank you very much for the info. That was interesting. The question remains: how got those scripts out? I would suspect HBO being behind this on purpose. They know how big RLJ is among all people. They push it as hard as they can so the bomb they will blow will be amazing: RL is not true. Ups. 😆

HBO was hacked. The FBI is investigating now because the hackers are releasing personal information on the actors: personal phone numbers, home addresses, and other personal data.

I don't know if the "hacks" are real or not. We still must think of a publicity act by HBO I think. It might be true. But perhaps not.
I find it strange that basically the same guy who posted the S6 leaks, leaked the S7. And then deletes the account. This person must have access to the material and it was said for s7 it was extra strict. So it must be someone from the inside team.
If last years hacks were "real" and HBO had an investigation running, this person should not have been able to leak stuff again.
IF 7.5 and 7.7 leaks turn out to be true - regarding the R+L=J thing - then DD must think the watchers have no brain.
It would be so ridiculous, beyond words. If that is what Martin really writes, then the show should have filmed it better. It would still not stop my criticism for Martin himself as this outcome is illogical. Just from a character psychological viewpoint alone.

I'm just quoting because I think it needs to stand out both the #6 sentence and the BUTT addendum. It was kinda crowded in that long post and I feared it may be glossed over and I didn't want that.
Crystal clear. CRYSTAL.

That is paradox. They officially confirm it but make actors place an X where the R should be. I really hope for a total twist that noone expected. I can't believe Martin would really write Jon Snow as an Aegon Targaryen. Me and also some other book readers would simply dislike this. Open hints for R since book 1, hidden but great and logical hints for other theories, just to reveal the most obvious but most unlogical? Well, Martin is the god of his universe, it does not mean I need to like what he does. I am sure - regardless of stupidity - a lot of people will like it.
My two cents on the ep without me reading any spoilers. I have this weird sensation that Eastwatch is not the big thing we saw in the trailer where Sandor, Thoros, Dondarrion and Tormund make their stand. There's something in the books too that I reread yesterday for the millionth time of course:
Could the skulls in her vision have signified this bridge? Somehow Melisandre did not think so. "If it comes, that attack will be no more than a diversion. I saw towers by the sea, submerged beneath a black and bloody tide. That is where the heaviest blow will fall." "Eastwatch?" Was it? Melisandre had seen Eastwatch-by-the-Sea with King Stannis. That was where His Grace left Queen Selyse and their daughter Shireen when he assembled his knights for the march to Castle Black. The towers in her fire had been different, but that was oft the way with visions. "Yes. Eastwatch, my lord."
Book Mel has ambivalent feelings. And apparently there will be two battles. A smaller one (that Jon takes to to be at the Bridge of Skulls - Shadow Tower) and a bigger one (at Eastwatch by the Sea - but Mel's not sure).
Show has Bran with the vision at Eastwatch, clearly what the show will make the bigger battle. But I do wonder if they will still do a second battle at the end of the season somewhere beyond the Wall.

Agreed re: Mel's lack of certainty.
Regarding Eastwatch, I'm thining it is a not-subtle play on words. I think we'll be watching the east, because the white walkers will be walking around the Wall in the east very soon. (See the frozen area of the sea east of the Wall in the opening credits this season)
And, I hope, we will be watching the East for a long time. Now that the Long Night should be descending upon the land, people should be waiting for sunrise... and waiting... and waiting...

Lol Which definition of the "paradox" do you refer to though? There are so many nowdays. If it is "a statement that is seemingly contradictory or opposed to common sense and yet is perhaps true" I'd say yes, it is. However, it is true. All of it.
I think Kit is simply doing his best to still try to keep things interesting. Kind of like when everyone knew he's filming season 6 and his character is not dead but he kept saying he's dead. Did you think that's a paradox?! People don't tell the truth all the time.
Personally, I preferred him to be the son of a flawed and really well written Ned, one who cheated Cat, one who for once loved and said to hell with duty and honor. But I was never stuck on that and I appreciate the clues that hint to R+L. As far as I'm concerned this ain't a Whodunit it story where you play detective only to get a ass pull to something the writer barely hinted before, and you need Hercule Poirot to explain everything in one big exposition chapter. There's such a thing as bad writing for this type of narrative and THAT would be it.
I don't like this idea that they can just walk around the Wall. It just seems so cheap and lazy...
I don't think they'll do it. Sorry voice , I know what you mention because I've seen the credit pic with ice covering the Eastwatch by the Sea portion of the sea, but they probably realize that if they do that it would be a ridiculous thing seeing as the NK and Army of the dead could have easily done the same at Hardhome, and why did they not do it then?!
I really think it's the Wall they'll go over. Or somehow someone will open the gate (?) Worst case scenario: maybe the WW get some ships? I am really curious how they plan to do that.
Note: just to let y'all know because the white around the Eastwatch pic has been doing the rounds kind of like a "show passed the books thing". There's a line in that Jon/Tycho Nestoris discussion where the Braavosi banker tells Jon that there's ice in the water in Braavos. I thought it was super interesting when I first read it, it's still interesting now. Should get the quote but I don't have the kindle with me.
EDIT: I read your collective comments again and I am confused. You guys WERE talking about walking around the wall because everything turned to ice, no? because that's what I assumed when I answered.

Like this quote from the chat at the bottom of the page?
silentmajority: The wolves have to serve some purpose don't you think? I can't imagine that CGI budget for a dire wolf would be that much. All you have to do is train a dog, film the dog, and then make the image bigger on the final cut of the show.
These are the producers who are keeping direwolves from our screens. Cheap and lazy is their modus operandi.
