"There’s no secret that this is where this is going. Readers of the book have known that things were heading towards this destination for a while. Even the characters in this story know it’s heading in this direction."

Everyone seems to think that either Little Finger is playing both Arya and Sansa or that Arya is playing Little Finger, but I think that Sansa know what Little Finger is planning, and that she is the one playing everyone. She did learn from Cersai and Little Finger after all...

All art is at once surface and symbol. Those who go beneath the surface do so at their peril. Those who read the symbol do so at their peril. It is the spectator, and not life, that art really mirrors. Oscar Wilde.
It is clearly Dany and Jons theme. I can't hear any Targaryen instruments though. Or any Targaryen theme from previous seasons. Still there will be some Truth in the scene. Looks like we DO get a parallel boatsex scene with flashbacks.
If it is RL at the same time that Dany gets pregnant then a lot of watchers won't like it. They are already disgusted.
That's such a beautiful song. We've only heard snatches of it so far - it's awesome in full length. Close your eyes and listen. Goose bump material. Love it!
asharadaynedragonblood, thanks for posting that very insightful musical analysis. It takes a knowledge of music to produce this kind of thing of course but is so much more interesting and enlightening than the endless spoilering, nit-picking and show bashing that seems to have gripped the net of late. NewRockStars published a similar analysis of the soundtrack accompaniment to the blowing up of the sept. Fascinating stuff.
So, perhaps this song really is the song of ice and fire, the sweet sad song Rhaegar composed. .
Last week I was going through some of Cersei's chapters and discovered a passage I had completely forgotten about. She is ten years old and meets the prince for the first time:
Seventeen and new to knighthood, Rhaegar Targaryen had worn black plate over golden ringmail when he cantered onto the lists. Long streamers of red and gold and orange silk had floated behind his helm, like flames. Two of her uncles fell before his lance, along with a dozen of her father’s finest jousters, the flower of the west. By night the prince played his silver harp and made her weep. When she had been presented to him, Cersei had almost drowned in the depths of his sad purple eyes.He has been wounded, she recalled thinking, but I will mend his hurt when we are wed. Next to Rhaegar, even her beautiful Jaime had seemed no more than a callow boy. The prince is going to be my husband, she had thought, giddy with excitement, and when the old king dies I’ll be the queen. Her aunt had confided that truth to her before the tourney. “You must be especially beautiful,” Lady Genna told her, fussing with her dress, “for at the final feast it shall be announced that you and Prince Rhaegar are betrothed.
Cersei was clearly moved by Rhaegar's song, even at the tender age of 10. But what I find striking is her thought - that he has been wounded and her resolve to mend that hurt when they are wed. Why do her instincts tell her that the prince is wounded or hurting? I do not know. But I cannot help noticing a parallel to Dany finally realizing that Jon is indeed wounded.
Cersei is absolutely enthralled; call it infatuation, puppy love, love ... she is as taken in by Rhaegar as Sansa is by Joffery. But she does not get to marry the prince and in a continuation of the above passage we find out that she never forgave Robert for killing him:
Father found no better man. Instead he gave me Robert, and Maggy’s curse bloomed like some poisonous flower. If she had only married Rhaegar as the gods intended, he would never have looked twice at the wolf girl. Rhaegar would be our king today and I would be his queen, the mother of his sons. She had never forgiven Robert for killing him.
George M. literally forces Robert's love for Lyanna down our throats; he fought a war over her, killed Rhaegar with his great warhammer and even that was not enough to assuage his desire for vengeance. But what about Cersei's feelings on the matter? She had been led to believe she would marry the prince, she wanted him, was probably in love with him, but none of that came to be. From her point of view, when the prince did make a choice, he chose Lyanna. To make matters worse Robert kills her beloved prince, ending any possibility, however faint, that she would ever become his wife. She then has to marry this man to cement an alliance and on her wedding night, hears him whisper the name of her rival in her ear.
Isn't this ever so tragic? I fully understand why she never forgave Robert and fully sympathize with her in this regard.

Is is a good catch about Cercei. But I doubt that the music we hear is the song Rhaegar wrote. The harp playing is just a book detail. The melody of the TRUTH song is a mix of Danys Drogo love song and Jon/Stark music. Ramin chooses the instruments and melody on point. The music itself spoils. So I guess the OST song will be played during Dany/Jon intimate scene and most likely we will get a flashback/(non)-reveal at the same time. The Truth could also imply to something that "really" happened. Not R+L=J. Still possible. But perhaps the leaks are all true.
But then we only would get a ToJ 2.0. Extended scene. I would not call it Truth then, since HBO revealed everything already.

Oh yes, the music itself spoils and it sticks in memory. I have seen LotR so many times that when I occasionally listen to the soundtrack I visualize the corresponding scenes. Interestingly, the soundtrack of the Hobbit series is very similar to LotR and on account of the music, predicting what would happen next was a piece of cake, much to my surprise (and disappointment) at the time. Terrible spoilers
Well, we don't really know if Rhaegar's song is the song of ice and fire or if this song is it. I agree with your assessment of TRUTH. However, if the song is to accompany a sexual union of ice and fire, then it would make sense for it to be a song of ice and fire. I'm reminded of Jojen's words:
“If ice can burn,” said Jojen in his solemn voice, “then love and hate can mate. Mountain or marsh, it makes no matter. The land is one.”
Total opposites coming together to make a whole.
As far as the truth goes, don't know how D&D will present that. I personally think Rhaegar is only a point of reference and that Aerys is more likely to be Jon's father. That gives the incest thing and coming together to form a whole, and most importantly, to heal a rift, much more potency. Brother and sister rather than nephew and aunt. But we shall see.
As to the composition of the song, I have to watch the video once more. Don't understand Spanish and catching all the text was difficult. Which Drogo love song do you mean? I checked the Dany/Drogo love scene - where she seduces him for the first time and that's pretty heavy on the drums. I've discovered Ygritte and Jon's song however, on the Season 3 soundtrack. It's titled "You Know Nothing" and has the recognizable flavour of "Truth." It accompanies Jon and Ygritte's successful climbing of the Wall, right at the top when they view the world from on high and embrace. The other song with similar notes is on the same album, titled "I paid the Iron Price." Still have to look for that scene but the title seems kind of appropriate considering Jon and indeed all the Starks have paid a high price thus far. Which is interesting considering that the "Lannisters always pay their debts" as well as their involvement in the destruction of House Stark.
PS. Anyone who has Amazon Prime can stream the soundtracks via the music section.

How is that lame? They have been hinting Jon being a Targaryian and Stark since the pilot episode. I do think the dragon and wolf is Lyanna and Rhaegar though. It's time for them to confirm the "mystery" and I think it will be this episode.

Them "confirm" this. This is one of those statements that surprises me.I always thought that was the author's job.I guess what I'm trying to say is until it is written in the books its not a confirmation.

Like I said before a lot of these issues fall into GRRM's lap. He's only managed to publish one book since the TV series launched, and he had to give D&D an outline so they could finish the series. The small details may be them trying to fill in the blanks, but I don't think that D&D would take creative liberty and naming Jon a Targaryian when GRRM had other plans. Basically, if you go back and watch from the beginning both Jon and Dany's stories have mirrored one another, and they have been hinting at this since the pilot. It also was one of the questions that GRRM asked D&D before he agreed to let them adapt his novels. They have been working towards this reveal for over 60 hours.
