Barbrey Dustin is a character that really perplexes me. I am all over the place trying to decide what is going on with her. She is so casual and flippant with Roose at times, I assume at times they must be lovers. He act's more relaxed and warmly around her than anyone I have seen, but I can't figure him out, either. It's certainly interesting to try to puzzle out.
Haha, she's a tough cookie! I'm barely starting to look into her, my first read I just had to put her way back as my mind was a bit shattered at that stage (binged all the five books in a short order). I see a possiblilty that she's a third way, playing her own game rather than following anyone elses.
She could be banging Roose, that thought definitely crossed my mind as they seem very intimate compared with anyone else. I think I need a full Roose reread, but that has to wait as my plate is full right now. And my head.
Reek/Theon is so damaged, sometimes I think we need to stand back from his POV, and wonder how much we can trust the information he gives us as this point in the story. Which is tough, because it's all the information surrounding the internal Winterfell plot in Dance.
True. Easy to forget that Martin really sticks with the POV style, instead of using a mix with neutral information like most other authors. And it's really only now that I have an interest in him, looking into more "secondary" plots. (I know he's not that, but to me he is.) The same problem is really everywhere we only have one POV, so it's sifting through everything for little clues here and there. The Winterfell pot is a hard one though, I'll give you that! It's going from simmering to boiling now!
Probably, they are! It's just one of those weird things I can't shake right now. But I can find a line or passage and worry at it like a bone, and overthink it to death, and right now this is striking me as odd!
Haha, I know!
