I do wonder a bit about Rowen Atkinson's Blackadder, and how GRRM could mean this to be intended as hint's at House Wyl. He has confirmed in SSM's that it is a nod to the BBC Blackadder comedy series. House Wyl is noted for some treachery in the past, including ambushing Orys Baratheon and it's Lord taking his sword hand (as well as the sword hands of every man captured) to which Orys paid back this favor to Lord Wyl's son by taking both hands and feet of said heir. Also, holding Aemon the Dragonknight in a cage while forcing Baelor the Blessed to walk the boneway barefooted while snakes struck his feet. I have wondered if they claimed their current sigil from that incident or if it existed before?
Ah, so it's not out of line! Fabulous photo, by the way! Off to read more about House Wyl.

I think GRRM uses lot's of real world stories, people, concepts in this book series, and mixes them in as nodding to something he really enjoys. Kind of like named a Dornish House Jordayne, Trebor Jordayne, Lord of the Tor is a nod to Robert Jordan, the author of the Wheel of Time series. He's crafty like that.
What he could be going for with House Wyl and the Blackadder concept, I have no idea, but I hope we get more hints in the next book.
Their father understood as well. "You want no pup for yourself, Jon?" he asked softly.
