New here; a year ago I theorized that Dany was Ashara and Rhaegar's daughter, and was shocked how many people came to the same conclusion here in (f)Dany. Which was pretty cool . The stillborn daughter that randomly appears out of nowhere (which is probably the alibi for her missing daughter) and that fact Dany has Ashara's eyes. really just solidified that to me. The (f)Dany essay was even more eye-opening, especially the part regarding why Elia was in Starfall and not KL, and that Rhaegar said a "women's" name even though Dany knows Lyanna's name. Like PJ but could never buy at all R+L in any sense (which I'll talk more about with relation to Jon).
I also theorized Arthur+Lyanna = Jon; I've seen a few threads discussing that, but wasn't sure about the general consensus here about Jon's parentage.
I think Jon's connection to Lyanna is hard too dismiss. But I see no evidence linking him to Rhaegar, or that he was similar to Rhaegar in any way. The whole Azor Ahai prophecy nonsense is the only thing linking him to maybe being a Targaryen; I think this can be dismissed (EDIT: actually it doesn't, if anything the prophecies point more to House Dayne than House Targaryen being related to the ptwp/Azor Ahai in my post below); Melisandre just makes up whatever she wants to. But even disregarding that, a romance between Rhaegar and Lyanna seems much more logical in the front, right? Well perhaps. But I think I think that Dany heard Ashara's name from Rhaegar (as markg171 clearly showed); would he really elope with both? I think it's doubtful, since Rhaegar believed the dragon has to have three heads (two being Aegon and Rhaenys), the third being Daenerys. Unless he's referring to the heads as Elia, Ashara, and Lyanna?
But with regard to Jon and Arthur I saw many eye-opening parallels:
1. Arthur wins the Kingswood Brotherhood with payments, similar to Jon tries to win the wildlings by giving them lands. And the Kingsguard is a literal parallel to the Night's Watch.
2. They are excellence as swordsmen.
3. Pyp (having ears like a bat) and Grenn (called an aurochs, or bull); similar to Oswell Whent (whose sigil is a bat) and Gerold Hightower (called the white bull).
But what do you think?
