Thoughts? If you think he's alive, why? Why do you think he's dead? Do you think Martin will ever let us know the answer, or leave it to reader interpretation?
“Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.” ― George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones
I voted no, because when I read this passage from Arya, I thought it was implied that he was a goner:
Look with your eyes, he had said. She saw: the knight in his pale armor head to foot, legs, throat, and hands sheathed in metal, eyes hidden behind his high white helm, and in his hand cruel steel. Against that: Syrio, in a leather vest, with a wooden sword in his hand. "Syrio, run," she screamed.
Plus, Cersei wouldn't have let him go- she had all the servants of the Stark household killed, not captured: look at Septa Mordane. Why kill her and allow Forel to live? Surely she wasn't a threat.

I voted dead, but in my heart of hearts He's Alive!
Yeah, I don't see us revisiting Syrio anytime soon

Not really sure. I've convinced myself of both at different times. Originally figured that we would never hear any more about him. Then thought he was Jaqen for a while. Then thought for sure he was dead. Now, especially after noticing previously the fact of the comment hidden under WP's spoiler tag, I just don't know...
Why must I always be the isle of crazy alone in an ocean of sensibility? The should to everybody else’s shouldn’t? The I-will to their better-nots?
Because GRRM will soon (in 2018) have to provide another "surprising clue" and this one is ripening a treat.
Having typed the above, I do appreciate that this will probably not happen because I can't see the dude featuring in a travelogue which has become the norm.
I voted no because I read something that said show Syrio is definitely a goner. I wish I knew where I read that. But honestly, he is the first sword of Braavos who always tells the God of Death: "Not today" and we did not read about/see his lifeless body, so it would be logical for him to be alive.
“Don’t fight in the North, or the South. Fight every battle everywhere. Always, in your mind.”
voice why is this in the crown lands? Wasn't Syrio "killed" in KL?

Oh I really want to believe it, I really do, but basically the rule is
likeable character= burnt toast

Um. Just where exactly do you think that King's Landing is???
I don't know, but the bastards there are called Rivers, so I figured it was like Monaco.

I am going with alive. Martin could have easily killed him in front of Arya and he didn't. Until a POV sees the corpse he could easily be alive. Or he is a Faceless Man.
Darkstar will be the next Vulture King.
Craster has 19 daughters and there are 19 castles on the Wall, coincidence I think not!
