Michelle Fairley really does a great job in this episode as the grief obsessed Catelyn.
And Cersei's additional baby... I don't mind it.
The omission of Catelyn's most damning line to Jon is likely in the best interest for having the show watchers sympathize with her. I really like the scene with her and Ned that's so tender.

Oh dear god, Kitt thankfully learned to close his mouth in reaction shots because his standing there with a blank look on his face when speaking in the extra scene with Jaime really makes him look derpy.

Sean Bean's Ned is much more congenial and a bit more charming than book Ned, especially around Robert. While in the book we get a taste of what the two are like around each other, with each balancing out the worse humors of the other was amplified here on the TV show.

The howls and barking in the background of the Robb/Catelyn's scene really adds the aural level needed to the scene. While it's described in the books, it's really nice to hear it played out--though it really makes me wonder why no one is going to check on the dogs barking before Robb sees the fire.

CSI: Winterfell is looking rather Medieval this week when Investigator Cat goes in and finds that awfully thick piece of hair right out of the floorboards. Now, the sun could have shined on it and gave the hair away, but still that hair has got to be the thickest piece that I've ever seen.

Ahh, Theon... poor Theon doesn't nearly get any amount of screen presence in this episode, and he didn't in episode one either--but at least in this episode he isn't crowded out completely.

I absolutely love how Sansa's motivations are made perfectly clear in this episode by watching the Southern court ladies change their hair to the southern fashion. Everything about what Sansa wants and how she will go about getting it is made perfectly clear, without any dialogue. I applaud the show for such visual storytelling. This is what visual storytelling should be like.

Joffrey trying to be charming is interesting to contemplate. Here he has no other reason to be charming than to attract Sansa's attention--it makes me wonder if things hadn't gone the way they did next, if Joffrey at this point was more interested in Sansa for her prettiness at this point, even with her being his betrothed.

This is something that I think the book didn't do--but by Joffrey pushing the wine on her, I think the show might be trying to help imply that Sansa's confusion later on comes from her having a hangover.
You can hold valyrian steel by the blade and not chop off your fingers?
Cat says I have prayed to the seven for more than a month, Bran's life is in their hands now. Cersei prays to the mother to keep her child alive. Not pointing out whether or not it is logical to pray to the stranger also to save your kids life, that could work both ways, but wondering if the show is inconsistent with this or if it was a mistake.
this extra had one job, walk off screen after lifting a bucket she gets camera conscious while lifting the bucket, and looks at the camera while walking off screen
