I just had a random thought, if Dany was in Dorne was Viserys and Rhaella with her? Really crackpot speculation, Rhaella and Rhaegar are Dany's parents. Rhaegar wanted the third head of the dragon and Rhaella had already left King's Landing for Dorne. Rhaegar was with Rhaella in Dorne when he was missing for so long. I know it is way out there, would be interesting though.
Mojo and @serduncan, on how it might work into the novels: Again, totally speculating here...but somewhere there is a mention of a Second Dance. Usually (F)aegon gets tapped. I think it's Dany, whom everyone expects; and Tyrion, of the green and black eyes.Ironically and unknowingly, they would be two Great Bastards repeating history.
I like this idea, sounds like something up @prettypig's alley, too! Especially if we find out one of them's a secret Blackfyre or something.

Yes I'm usually dubious of this second dance because it implies that one of Dany's dragons will turn on her.
I could see this happening, actually. She's been warned time and time again that her dragons aren't furry kittens. She's losing her handle on them already, as we saw with baby eating Drogon . Plus, I've mentioned before that I think she's got the crazy gene since book I, and that she's a sociopath. Even Snowfyre remarked that it could be an arc opposite of Jaime, where we see her transform from naive, likeable child, to rage monster we want to burn. Hear that, @prettypig? Another inverse parallel!

"May we know what it says, Your Grace?" asked Ser Barristan. "It is a secret pact," Dany said, "made in Braavos when I was just a little girl. Ser Willem Darry signed for us, the man who spirited my brother and myself away from Dragonstone before the Usurper's men could take us. Prince Oberyn Martell signed for Dorne, with the Sealord of Braavos as witness." She handed the parchment to Ser Barristan, so he might read it for himself. "The alliance is to be sealed by a marriage, it says. In return for Dorne's help overthrowing the Usurper, my brother Viserys is to take Prince Doran's daughter Arianne for his queen." The old knight read the pact slowly. "If Robert had known of this, he would have smashed Sunspear as he once smashed Pyke, and claimed the heads of Prince Doran and the Red Viper … and like as not, the head of this Dornish princess too."
A Dance with Dragons - Daenerys VII
"Three liars," Daario said darkly. "They deceived me." "And bought you too, I do not doubt." He did not trouble to deny it. Dany unrolled the parchment and examined it again. Braavos. This was done in Braavos, while we were living in the house with the red door. Why did that make her feel so strange?
She found herself remembering her nightmare. Sometimes there is truth in dreams. Could Hizdahr zo Loraq be working for the warlocks, was that what the dream had meant? Could the dream have been a sending? Were the gods telling her to put Hizdahr aside and wed this Dornish prince instead? Something tickled at her memory. "Ser Barristan, what are the arms of House Martell?"
I wonder if the Sealord actually came to Dorne instead of Dany and her brother being in Braavos when this was signed?

Given that Viserys, Darry, Oberyn, and the Sealord, AKA everyone the pact is about, are all dead by this point, I'd say that it's far more likely that there never was a pact. Doran is the only one left who can say that this pact ever happened. Which is rather convenient for him.
IMO there never was a pact. Doran made it up to hopefully convince Dany to make an agreement wedding her to Dorne.
Your lordship lost a son at the Red Wedding. I lost four upon the Blackwater. And why? Because the Lannisters stole the throne. Go to King’s Landing and look on Tommen with your own eyes, if you doubt me. A blind man could see it. What does Stannis offer you? Vengeance. Vengeance for my sons and yours, for your husbands and your fathers and your brothers. Vengeance for your murdered lord, your murdered king, your butchered princes. Vengeance!

Supposedly from the man himself according to a Westoros user...
Holy shit. Could it be real?
I think it is, I recognize the avatar, but can't remember the username. WP got a livejournal response too, it's on his signature, and the avatar for GRRM seems to match.

Where was this posted? I guess I'll go look in general.
@morrigansraven, it says:
User: "Dany remembers a lemon tree outside the house with the red door in braavos, but citrus trees shouldn't really grow in braavos' cold, foggy climate. Is this discrepancy significant? Does it point to future revelations about Dany's past? Thank you so much"
Grrm: "very perceptive of you. Yes, it does point to...well, that would be telling."
::dramatic::
It makes me think that it's something we'll see in winds, if he did indeed write that, because he confirmed it without confirming it...

That noticing that lemons don't grow in Braavos is very perceptive and that it's there because it points to something

So Ran commentated on this and says that it's 100% real and not a fake by the author of the image
Running the SSM and having many communications with George over the years, suffice it to say I don't find the response informative or indicative of what the title of the thread says. George's response is a non-answer. That's just my two cents.
For those still doubting, I can verify that the message is indeed absolutely legitimate. Still, doesn't change my view of it. George has given so many non-answers over the years.
But he's refusing to treat it as an SSM and says it didn't tell us anything lol. Odd how he treated the "Night's King is a legendary figure akin to Lann the Clever or Brandon the Builder and no more likely to have survived than them" as an SSM that stated the Night's King is dead when that didn't actually say that the Night's King was dead and was a far more of an evasive answer (if Brandon and Lann are both alive than so is the Night's King duh).
Seems Ran's a little invested in Dany being who she's supposed to be. I wonder why.

Yeah, I saw that, and was thinking he was being biased against the poster, as well. He doesn't want anyone other than himself to come up with an idea he hasn't thought of, I don't think. Everyone was ready to slam the poster, too. I commented on there that this one guy who was proclaimed to be a great detective, was not a good detective at all, because he failed to note it was a pm vs a not a blog.
Anyway, they also tried to twist the response to mean something else about the Sealord, I think. He says it is significant. I you the poster just to bump his thread later when it's revealed later (unless his thread gets deleted mysteriously). It's been known to happen, the only essay/theory I ever wrote was deleted for no reason. Never existed. Almost like I was living in an alternate reality.
The theory ended up being wrong, but I wish I would've saved it, because the premise could've still applied to someone else.
