Hey, not to ruin your mojo, but will you take a look at Jon VII? It's his first wolf dream, and Bran tries to get him to open his 3rd eye via the weirwood. Or just skim it. Qhorin picked Snow because he had Stark blood and the northern gods favor him. Then, when he says he was dreaming he was Ghost, instead of dismissing it, Qhorin tells Jon to repeat everything he remembers from the dream, start to finish. It's like he knows the Starks are wargs, and isn't surprised in the least. Presumably, Benjen is the Stark Qhorin knows, and would be basing his experience on. Makes you wonder what he and Benjen knew and shared about warging. Even if Benjen didn't warg, maybe he knew a little bit about it, and passed it onto Qhorin.
also a nice Mance loving to sing songs reference in that chapter...
“Never forget what you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armour yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.” ― George R.R. Martin, A Game of Thrones
Ned cut a few of Arthur's fingers off yet was knocked down and swordless. Ned would have died if Howland hadn't stepped in and brokered a peace.
Ned is respected in Dorne because he was honorable enough to tell the real story. Arthur didn't die, he went off to join the NW as Qhorin Halfhand.
Crackpot ::crackpot:: I was just posting about Qhorin Halfhand to you at the same time. Were we warging each other?

I'm not sure. Did you feel super stoned for a moment?
Not quite stoned, but I had this incredibly strong craving for munchies and finished the key lime pie in the fridge...

Check this out, Qhorin knows what a wolf dream is, and not only isn't surprised, but he seems to understand what it was more than Jon does:
A Clash of Kings - Jon VII
"Tell me all that you remember, from first to last," said Qhorin Halfhand. Jon was confused. "It was only a dream." "A wolf dream," the Halfhand said. "Craster told the Lord Commander that the wildlings were gathering at the source of the Milkwater. That may be why you dreamed it. Or it may be that you saw what waits for us, a few hours farther on. Tell me."

I agree Mojo. I've always been more focused on Bran in Jon's dream when it comes to that chapter. Looks like I missed some good info.

That whole chapter is pretty creepy and scary. He says Bran smells of darkness and death- but whose death? And Bran says he's not afraid.
then Qhorin says later Mormont and Benjen sensed the cold winds, or something to that effect. What does Benjen know about magic and warging? None of the rangers bat an eye about the wolf dream, it's Jon who doesn't realize what it means. Then check out how Qhorin takes care of ghost in the chapter after the eagle attacks him. It's like he reveres Ghost, and knows how special he is.
It's sad when the bowman stays to die when the wildlings chase them.

If it's not Bran the Time Lord, and it's occurring in the correct book sequence, that would be when Bran is hidden in the Winterfell crypts. When Bran gets out of them, he made some offhand comment about reaching out to Jon while he was down there. I always just assumed that was why Jon sensed darkness and death, but I could be wrong.
It's funny to hear you say that about Qhorin. Someone brought up the later part of that sequence, when one of the NW brothers questions if Jon is a warg as proof about something over on heresy, and BC and someone else argued the exact opposite of what you're saying. I wish I could remember the whole thing more clearly...
Why must I always be the isle of crazy alone in an ocean of sensibility? The should to everybody else’s shouldn’t? The I-will to their better-nots?

Oh, that's right! I hadn't made it that far, yet! I only read 3 chapters today ::shuffle::
I'm curious as to what the argument was now too, that you're referring to. I imagine it was fairly recent? I pop in and out of there, depends on if they're discussing something I've read recently or not... Which covers the first 1 3/4 of the first two books, at present

Three chapters isn't too bad... It was fairly recently. I think only a few pages back. When I get a chance I'll try to look. Having a migraine day from not sleeping last night, so I'm pretty useless about now...

I noticed you hadn't slept!
i got through 2 today, but I was trying to work on my carpet with a cleaner we rented. Just finished the 'there are no men like me' chapter.

Remember when during Blackwater, they sing the song about the mother in Maegor's holdfast in the Sansa chapter? Dotrice sings it to the tune of "Deck the Halls". I need to see if I can find the audio on YouTube.
