Could Lyanna's downfall be due to an act of revenge from either/all of the 3 squires/their houses who were so humiliated in front of the creme de la creme of the kingdom?
Add to this a pinch of Tywin's opportunism...
I can't help but think that Tywin planned quite a bit of Robert's rebellion. I mean, had the hammer swung the other way, Rhaegar would have been king thanks to Tywin's own son.
It was a conspiracy I tell you!

Admittedly it is not as romantic an explanation as a regal dragon love tryst born of prophecies and sad songs, but it would have a clear motive and cause for its gory end.
It is not a Sansa type story, but Arya might well like it.
Heck, Arya has practically lived it. It wasn't long ago that she nearly died at the hands of Tywin's man (Ser Gregor), while the Queen claimed to have her hostage. Mayhaps history repeated itself.
As Ned was a good candidate for being the avenger behind the KOTLT mask, he would be well placed to appreciate the consequences.
Has this been discussed?
I can't recall, but if it has been, a likely place would have been this thread:

I just bumped it too so it should be a little easier for folks to find.
Mayhaps "pleasure" was too strong a word to use. But look at how differently Ned behaved in that combat vs his combat outside of Chattaya's brothel. Ned killed a Lannister guard outside of it, but only because they had no other choice. Ned had hoped to pull a Tyrion (heh) and talk his way out of it with the threat that Catelyn would kill Tyrion if Jaime did anything too drastic.
If the fever dream dialogue is accurate, it seems Ned struck the opposite tone. He brokered no surrender. He mocked the kingsguard knights at the start, and continued to provoke them throughout the interaction. Ned didn't want peace at the tower of joy, he wanted to kill.
A powerful They indeed. These are no ordinary They. They may not know the nature of Lyanna's requested promise, but They know quite a bit about the nature of the wolf maid's circumstances at the end of her life.
