Actually, putting it in that Chapter reread would make sense. That is Chapter 39, so we are getting closer all the time. I think you have opened us up to Chapter 30.
Or maybe an "appendix" to that thread so not derail the rest of the chapter discussion. There is much more in there, and what is memory and what is dream is quite fuzzy. Maybe setting it side by side with the other tellings we have of HH would be best.
And yes, chapter 30 is the last to come up. Thinking of finishing Arya's in a moment and try to get that up today.
The rose crown/Lyanna's lap and the lance/Rhaegar's ?long pole?, is a bit heavy handed, I agree. It actually just make me laugh, but I am sometimes very immature. We have been told that GRRM wrote that part of the world book himself, but it's possible this is heavy handed hinting (and it is heavy handed) or it's trolling. I think it's trolling, much like the R L carved into a post at Castle Black or Dan or Dave sitting around with R+L on their shirt!
Haha, I chuckled when I read it the first time! I usually read things pretty relaxed the firt time and then go back to sift it, so reading it again it became a -gasm. Ok, so Martin wrote it! I do lean to it being heavy trolling, as I don't see him putting down such an obvious clue.
Though, the R L on the post at Castle Black is interesting because the other person in the scene is Samwell Tarly!
LOL! You know, I never was RL on that post, and only seen it on YT years after I last saw that episode. I did see some clues-in-the-show compilations, but I'm totally unable to take anything from that seriously.
I just came across a passage about Stark's and songs, but I think I need to wait for the correct thread.
Just up? If so, I need to think a little on it and make a search of a few things. I'll try taking a break chasing shadows to get it done!
The Bael Tale's similarity to Rhaegar and Lyanna stood out to me on my second time through. Rhaegar the bard, Lyanna with the rose crown who went missing. But I was focusing on that part of the story, and completely missed things about the Other's for several rereads. As a teenager, I read a lot of historical romances, and the whole Rhaegar and Lyanna love story just seemed so obvious to me based on what I was used to, and the Bael Tale jumped out at me fitting the same criteria on read two. But after the first time through the story, I allowed myself free access to the internet and mountains of theories, so maybe that aspect drew me to fitting the Bael Tale in with Prince Silversting and She-of-the-Blue-Roses!
I was sullied when reading that, but even so I think it's pretty heavy handed. At least if you're looking for RL clues.
