Your lordship lost a son at the Red Wedding. I lost four upon the Blackwater. And why? Because the Lannisters stole the throne. Go to King’s Landing and look on Tommen with your own eyes, if you doubt me. A blind man could see it. What does Stannis offer you? Vengeance. Vengeance for my sons and yours, for your husbands and your fathers and your brothers. Vengeance for your murdered lord, your murdered king, your butchered princes. Vengeance!
Nice video, I am looking forward to seeing the rest. As always with Preston there are some parts I agree with and others who seem to be giant leaps. I think he is correct in identifying the Targaryen women as essential to hatching dragons. The whole gene thing seems a bit overly convoluted for my taste, I think it is much simpler: follow the maternal line. Only (female) children of the rightful heir to the maternal Targaryen dynasty are able to hatch dragons (or more accurately can conceive embryos whose souls can quicken an egg).
Guess who was the last identifiable heir to the maternal line? Daena Targayren, mother of Daemon Blackfyre (this is assuming that the line passes through the oldest son if there is no female child). A good reason to fight all those wars I guess.
I wonder if Preston will come to the same conclusion I have only with a different reasoning: Daenerys is a Blackfyre.

This was a pretty interesting video, I pretty much had the same thoughts, but I didn't think about the genetic difference for dragonriding and dragon hatching, but it makes sense.
If you read carefully, Martin has very subtly dropped hints about a number of secret Targaryen lines. My guess is (if PJ is correct) that Elaena Targaryen, couldn't hatch a dragon but she could have rode a dragon if any still existed at the time of her birth. Thus, she has one of the required X chromosomes. She has an affair with Alyn Velaryon allegedly, who then starts the bastard line that turns into House Longwater. Alyn Velaryon in turn had married a dragonrider, and their line begat the current House Velaryon. Alyn couldn't ride a dragon, and my guess is his wife either could hatch and ride, or just ride. Which means one dragon riding X chromosome is probably bouncing around House Velaryon, depending on how inbred they became. Elaena is also believed to have had an affair after her marriage with Osifer Plumm (possibly with Aegon IV) which means another dragonrding chromosome is bouncing around from that line. Then of course there is House Blackfyre from the union of Daena the defiant and Aegon IV. so Daemon Blackfyre could have also genetically been a dragonrider, and his chromosome could be passed down from that line.
In the meantime House Targaryen at the time of Robert's rebellion was from a line of Viserys II who never rode a dragon (thus probably does not have the necessary X chromosome) and the daughter of a Lys banker who may not have had the necessary chromosome herself. Other then incestuous pairings, they intermarried with House Dorne, Dayne, and Blackwood which led to the genetic mix that would have been Aerys and Rahella. Which is one of the reasons that I doubt Dany is their daughter. Hence the hints that she may in reality be from Dorne. My guess is Dany is a convernging of some of the above bloodlines which enables her to hatch and ride dragons.
It will be interesting to see how he explains Dany seeing as he'd previously said that Dany is Rhaegar and Lyanna's child in his TOJ videos. In which case Lyanna can't be providing any genetic material that will let Dany hatch/ride a dragon seeing as she has none herself as House Stark has never married a Velaryon or Targaryen and therefore nothing could have ever been passed down to her. She'd have to inherit solely from Rhaegar both the dragon riding gene, and the dragon hatching gene. Which if I've understood his idea, is kind of impossible as it would mean that Lyanna passed down no genes to her daughter. Dany should only be able to ride a dragon, not hatch them.
So will be interesting when he gets to Dany hatching her dragons in 298AC as she doesn't seem to follow the pattern if he sticks with his previous idea that R+L=D. But we've got 200 years of Targaryen genetics to get through before we get to her, and he could have abandoned his previous theory, possibly in favor of R+A=D as if one assumes that the Daynes possibly have some dragon genes as PJ seems to have, a Rhaegar and Ashara baby probably could have ended up with two dragon X genes.

Now that is interesting, freyfamilyreunion! So do you think that (f)Aegon will be toast then, if he really is Aegon?
Actually I think if fAegon was the real deal, he might be in more trouble. But it's complete speculation at this point. It kind of depends on who Young Griff's parents really are. I think the main point is being a "legal" Targaryen, a legitimate member of the royal Targaryen family, doesn't really mean much as it relates to dragon hatching/dragon riding at the time of Robert's rebellion. Their bloodlines have been so diluted by that time, that we shouldn't expect them to have any success in hatching a dragon. Or at the very least there are other lineages out there that are just as "magical" as the royal Targaryens when it comes to dragons.

I've got a crackpot theory that Alysanne may have left more than just a dragon egg during her trip up north. I think Martin is teasing (oh so subtly) that Alysanne may have conceived or given birth to an illegitimate child at the Queen's crown tower while up north. Which is why Martin in the World Book has given two lengthy estrangement periods between Alysanne and Jaehaerys. In which case, I think House Stark inherits their X dragon chromosome from Eddard's grandmother (great grandmother?) from House Flint. Having said that I don't subscribe to his theory of Rhaegar and Lyanna being Dany's dad.

I confess, I will be bummed if the final story is straightforward, and everyone has the obvious parentage.LOL,I'm addicted to Crack(pottery) ::crackpot::

This is all pretty awesome, I've never been a subscriber to the theories regarding genetics playing a role in dragon riding etc but this makes me a bit of a convert. It would explain the fascination with promised princes etc coming from a certain line (the right combinations coming together); it also ties so well into the meddling of the Citadel to keep the dragons away. If the Citadel knows more about what makes a dragon rider/hatcher than the Targaryens do, then they have an upper hand. Perhaps that's what's in the faceless man is looking for in Oldtown.

I think things went a bit off the rail on the second video. He has Corlys Velaryon as having no dragon gene which doesn't quite explain how one of his alleged bastards (if indeed it is his bastard) could ride a dragon. And he kind of skimmed over all the "dragonseeds" as well. Anytime he couldn't't figure out a genetic reason he went to the default position of well he probably just fed the dragon a lot of pork, like he did with Brkwn Ben. I'm not sure when Ben would have had the opportunity to surreptitiously feed her dragons. It would have been more interesting if he could have given a genetic reason.
